Bonkey’s Ice Cream & Snoballs

Yum! Fun, unique flavors. There is a line but service was quick. Fair prices. I recommend.

Just like the the cuckoo bird went «cuckoo» for Cocoa Puffs, I went «bonkers» for Bonkey’s!
Last night, I visited my good friend, who lives a block from your charming ice cream and snowball parlor, so we thought we’d give you a try.
And I am so glad we did!
I ordered a Strawberry Margarita snowball and it was simply heavenly. Not only was the shaved ice just perfect, the flavor was super delicious and refreshing. And I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was, too.
I wanted to «scream» for joy at the sight of your extensive ice cream list. I can’t wait to come back, so I can order your Exorcist sundae and bacon flavored ice cream.
I felt like a big kid in your store — and feeling a sense of nostalgia is something I yearn to achieve every day. Makes me feel young and alive, so thank you.

This is a chocolate snowball from bonkies? Girl was rude when we asked where the other half of the snowball is? And why this was 2.25!!! I got a black cherry snowball and it was full. Made by a different girl and the price was 1.75?!

Best selection of great tasting ice cream! Many many creative flavors — Cookie Monster, Hawaiian cherry pineapple, old bay caramel, blueberry pancake, grasshopper crème de menthe thin mint, and another two dozen including soft serve and snoballs too! All the tastes were so good I got multiple flavors cause I could pick just one. Definitely worth a visit! Pretty close to the steam train museum and New Freedom Junction train station, so stuff to see and close to the rail trail to work off the ice cream.

Definitely a favorite summer treat!!! Love the HUGE selection of snowballs and even ironic ice cream flavors, such as bacon ice cream. Doesn’t sound good? It’s great.

5 stars! Owned by the same people as Summer’s, Bonkey’s is just as awesome. Homemade hand dipped ice cream. They have wild flavors like bacon, lavender thyme, and baklava. Lots of crowd pleasers too like Cookie Monster and cotton candy. A must try!

Addictive — Love their sundaes with soft vanilla, strawberry topping, peanuts & whipped cream!!! Generous serving size also. Just wish they would carry soft frozen custard ice cream, especially lemon or black raspberry.

As someone who really doesn’t like ice cream, I have to highly recommend this place. The owner is incredibly friendly and the staff is always willing to suggest their favorites. Great selection of regular and unique flavors. I would recommend that everyone skip dessert at dinner and drive out of their way to get Bonkey’s ice cream.

This place has a friendly staff and the best ice cream around. If you like chocolate ice cream Zombie is the bomb! Another favorite in our family is cookie monster. Yum!

Ice Cream, Snowballs… What is there not to like.

You just can’t beat Bonkey’s for a good snowball along the general MD/​PA area. Cheap snowballs and ice cream, with a bunch of different flavors. There are hundreds of snowball flavors… but I always get egg custard. They used to be cash only, so bring a few bucks. The line moves pretty quickly. Also they serve from both the window and inside… so you can pick whichever line is the shortest.

Bonkey’s is a local institution and a great place to stop and get some great treats. We stopped by yesterday on the way home from Easter Linner. My wife got her usual, a small Red Velvet with Marshmallow. I am working my way down the list and got a Citrus Chiller. As always the staff was friendly and the sno-​balls were great.

Hands down the best ice cream around. If I still lived in Baltimore I’d drive back up to this place… it’s really that good. Ice cream, snowballs, sundaes… great place to stop on a summer evening, and it’s right off the NCR/​Rail trail!
