All you can eat for $ 9.50. Not bad! I tried this place first compared to their competition, Duke’s, just because well I’m from North Carolina and I’m all about UNC. Let’s say, I ate three plates worth, so I know what I’m talking about. I fully got that BBQ taste and experience because I thought I wasn’t going to get the chance to eat again for that day. So, this is what I felt Carolina kind of fell short. I felt that the selection wasn’t that big. I get it, if you do good with one thing and have all you can eat then do it. But the problem for me was that some of the items were a little on the dry side in my opinion. I don’t really like to soak my BBQ in sauce, and I feel like good BBQ you don’t really need to add anything extra. It would be delicious either you add sauce or not. It, any BBQ dish, can stand by itself. However, the price point $ 9.50 for all you can eat BBQ is definitely a plus. I feel what they did really good with was their greens and their friendliness. I also thought their dessert cart was huge. I didn’t eat any of it, but know that I eyed it for a while… but I didn’t give in on the temptation. I enjoyed Carolina’s. Nice name choice. The staff was very friendly. You definitely want to come early if you don’t want any lines, if you do come late then I would say to load up on your plate so you don’t have to go back into the line. This place is okay, I’ve had better, but for $ 9.50 it’s a steal at any BBQ spot.

FANTASTIC!!! I am visiting from California and spent the day in Aiken, SC with close friends. They took me to lunch at Caroling Bar-B-Que. It is a no frills restaurant with superb country food. This is my idea dining. I love the food. I love being able to get seconds, The Hash is fantastic as well as the pulled pork. I like spicy food, so I used the vinegar base sauce and liked it a lot. The hush puppies were very light. This is an example of what a barbecue place should be like. I just wish I lived closer to it! I look forward to my next trip to SC. I recommend that everybody visit Caroline Bar-B-Que. The price is right for superb food.

I recently moved to Aiken from Atlanta. I love that yellowish/orange BBQ sauce. I’m on a quest to find the best BBQ in the area. This was my first experience. Carolina BBQ is a bare bones restaurant. No frills. You almost feel like you are impeding on a family’s dinner in their home. No carpet. No decorations except Clemson football memorabilia. Country music. My wife and I got the buffet. The BBQ was good. Pulled pork. Two kinds of BBQ sauce: standard SC mustard based sauce and a pepper/mustard based sauce. What made Carolina BBQ stand out is the sides: rice, hash, mac n cheese, hush puppies, collard greens, green beans, cole slaw, banana pudding, etc. Not my favorite BBQ joint, but definitely good.

Sooo good! The food is and always has been amazing. Disclaimer: the restaurant truly is no frills but it is definitely worth your time. Carolina style BBQ is the tastiest you will find and this place does it right. Tastes like home!

After trying all the BBQ places in, and near, Aiken, I highly recommend this one! The selection on the buffet isn’t as large as other places, but the seasoning on all of the items is much better compared to even restaurants 2 miles down the road from this one! I now crave this place more often than I would like to admit!

This is the best BBQ hands down in the Aiken area. Every time I visit I make sure this place is in the agenda. Carolina BBQ accept credit cards and its buffet style!!! all you can eat. Less than $ 10 for the buffet. Typical mustard base BBQ sauce you’ll find in the area, ive never been a big fan of this type of BBQ sauce but the pork, chicken, and sides by themselves dont need any additional flavor. The meat is prepared fresh daily and taste amazing. little history: mustard base sauce is distinct to South Carolina and the one that people most often think of as South Carolina style — Mustard Sauce. The sauce is the product of the large German heritage found in South Carolina.

Delicious pulled pork BBQ! I had never had SC «hash» before and it was great(possibly even a little better the next day)! I just wish I could take it on the plane back to Colorado! The spicy mustard sauce is incredible. When we’re headed for the SC coast, somebody in the family will stop by for some takeout. Yum!

Good barbeque buffet. No muss, no fuss. Apparently there are two places like this in town and these folks are known as the BBQ place, while the other is the«sides» place. The hash was particularly good, though the pulled pork was good too. Can’t be beat for less than ten bucks!

Great BBQ. Agree with others, some of the best I have had. I will go out of my way now that I have discovered it. I had not had a mustard sauce I preferred until this one, but you sure don’t need any here. Meat is perfect. Sides are all fresh and very good. Looking forward to my next visit.

Being a Southerner, I’m picky with my ‘cue. My reviews speak for themselves. BBQ is something I have a passion for. Someday in the future, it may be my demise. Until then, laissez les Bön temps rouler! When I say this is legit, you can take it to the bank. I liked it better than Scott’s and Sweatman’s. Yes, that Scott’s and Sweatman’s. Why? You can actually taste the smoke, and it’s not over bearing. You can even see the smoke ring in the pork. Since I’m from the Lowcountry, mustard based is my choice. While their sauce was great, I found myself eating the pork w/o it. I can still smell the smoke on my fingers… Oooooooh baby… Their sides were equally as good. Collards were some of the best I’ve had, outside of my gmaw’s. Mac and cheese was REAL with burned edges, not velveeta crap. The sweet tea was almost as sweet as my mom makes it, so basically the sweetest you’ll ever have. This is one of those little BBQ spots you diligently hunt for on the back roads. At least I do. It’s easily in my top 3 of all time. Can’t go wrong for $ 9 either. GOTHERENOW!

I stopped in a couple of years ago while on a business trip, and I went out of my way to come back recently while on a trip with Mrs. P. This is amazing bbq. On our recent stop, I had hash, pulled pork, beans, hush puppies, and sweet potato nugget things. Mrs. P had pulled pork, hush puppies, and mac and cheese. The pulled pork alone was worth five stars. Tons of bark, and amazing smoky flavor. The mustard sauce was also spectacular. The hash wasn’t as good as it was on my last stop, but it was still very, very good. The sweet potato nuggets, mac and cheese, and hush puppies were also very good. If you’re in the Augusta-Aiken area, you need to stop here. And if you’re not, the place is on the 100-mile bbq list for a reason: it’s some of the best que you’ll find anywhere and at a great price.

Best little«hole in the wall» bbq joint I’ve ever eaten at. You’ve just got to try this place if you love good buffet style bbq places. Me, my bro, and my dad have all gotten our money’s worth plenty of times here. Everything they do is great and the people are the most friendly you’ll find anywhere.

Love this place, I just wish it were closer to me so I could go more often. This is not your typical BBQ buffet. All the food here is great and the Barbeque is first rate, and you can tell they cook it the right way. The meat has a good smoked flavor, but not overpowering. The folks here, both the employees and your fellow guest, are friendly and its a good olé fashioned family friendly place, with what I like to think of as home style dinning experience, its like your eating with your family and friends.

Some of the best BBQ around. A long time staple in my families dine-out rotation. Hole in the wall, out of the way, strange hours, and limited selection of sides, but what they do in the smokehouse is all that matters. They make great pulled pork BBQ and amazing sauce that you just eat until you can’t put another fork full into your mouth. Great option if you need a BBQ fix to go, as they have a separate walk in section for orders. They also deliver to the gates at SRS if you call in your order early.

It’s better than it looks when you step inside. Yes, the place is a bit of a shack, but the food is pretty good. The hash was delicious, the pulled pork was pretty great, the mac and cheese was good but not all that special, and the sweet tea was quite good. The hush puppies were also pretty tasty. This is definitely not a place you want to eat at too often as the food is very unhealthy, but that’s expected. The buffet line is sort of unappetizing to look at, but the food itself is pretty good. If you’re looking for some comfort food and don’t mind the looks of the place, it’s a pretty tasty place to go.

I grew up eating here. Now that I live in Seattle Wa, this is the one joint that I miss most. No place can touch Carolina BBQ. The lunch buffet has everything you need. From the hash, Bush puppies down to the peach cobbler and sweet tea. Thanks for keeping this the same so that I can come back to enjoy everytime I visit home!

Fantastic. I would try and normally write some interesting review that had all this buildup and hit all the bases, you know, the ambiance, the price, the people, etc, but I am going to resist. Just… Go here. It is the best BBQ I have had in the area, and is delicious. There is a buffet style service, so you can get that, or go to the take out window around the side, and order take out. The meat is juicy, smokey, and delicious. The sauces are wonderful. I didn’t have any sides here, so I can’t judge those, but the meat, oh, the meat, it was wonderful. The ambiance was fine, i mean, nothing fancy, but clean. The people seemed ok, not super friendly, but not rude. There was plenty of food in the buffet. The price was very reasonable. The service for takeout was quick. Go here!

Great prices and fantastic mac and cheese!!! The chicken is great, but I was a little disappointed they didn’t have any ribs… Buffet style, nothing fancy, the food is just good. So if you;re looking for ambiance, this is not the place, but if you want good food then you’re in for a treat.
