Near perfect. Has a creek running around it, swings, tables, ducks, horseshoes, etc etc etc and baseball fields.

According to my young cousin, who actually lives here, the snow cleans up the goose poop mentioned in the other review! Anyway, as you can tell from this remark and also from my photos, I was there in winter, right after the snow had fallen(although the creek was not frozen). For us, it was a nice shoveled path through a large snow field with a lot of attractive if(of course) bare trees. If you brought proper snow boots(unlike me) it would probably be a great place to run around in the snow, at least if you don’t have one of those gigantic Pennsylvania backyards.

The New Cumberland Borough Park is a lovely place for a picnic. It sits at the far South end of New Cumberland, down by the green bridge over the Yellow Breeches. If you’re coming out of town, turn right just before the bridge and you can’t miss it. The park is very well maintained, and is enjoyed by all kinds of people. There’s almost always someone jogging or fishing or playing some kind of sport. There are several baseball diamonds, a large open field, at least 2 playgrounds, horseshoes, toilet facilities, etc. It sits at a steep curve in the creek, where it has been dammed and is surrounded on 2 sides by it. There are some great trees to sit under, lots of cool squirrels and chipmunks scurrying about, public grills and the quiet solitude of the flowing creek. Just be careful you don’t sit or step in goose poop.
