Joseph Taylor Salon & Spa

I had an old gift certificate to this salon that I received at a charity event. I came into the salon previously to explain and ask if they would honor it and was told yes (about 2 months ago). On Tuesday I came to the salon with my husband to my an appointment and again confirmed that the gift certificate would be ok so we went ahead and scheduled something for today (Thursday). My husband got a haircut, which turned out just ok and at the conclusion I proceeded to hand them the gift certificate at which point I was told they would not honor it. I stated that when we made the appointment 2 days previously we were told it would be ok and we were told on an earlier date it would be ok. In the end I paid on my credit card, but I am bothered that on two separate occasions I was told something that was suddenly not true when it came time to pay.

I’d like to give this place 0 stars but Unilocal requires at least one. That’s how I feel about this place.
I had the pleasure of being assisted by Debbie. A wonderful woman who showed zero interest in coloring my hair or doing it right.
I even went back to complain that the color was wrong and she didn’t even speak to me… she just colored it again and she didn’t even ask me what color I wanted or discuss anything.
She was so in a rush that she missed some spots on my head and I had to go to JLK Salon in Nanuet to fix it.
My inside of my ear was all black and I serious regret even tipping this woman.
I felt she was all about money. Please don’t go here!

The salon is such a great place for adults and kids. Our girls took it upon themselves to chop off their hair. Donna at Joseph Taylor fixed it and you couldn’t even tell they had done a home hack job, and had the girls smiling the second they sat in the chair.

Barbara is amazing at color. I’ve been using her since I moved out of the city and swear by her eye for color. She is friendly and knowledgeable about her work. She understands what works for your (skin) coloring and gives you the look you want. Barb is also great at making sure you are happy so if you aren’t completely satisfied she always offers to update it to make sure you are pleased.

I had become unhappy with how my previous colorist was doing my hair on a whim I popped into Joseph Taylor for a consult. I met with Barbara and felt she knew exactly what I was talking about-​I made an appointment and I AM SO GLAD I DID! She brought my color to exactly what I’d been trying to achieve… she is a blonde hair guru!
