Dine here for an authentic Mexican meal, not for the atmosphere! My main priority when dining out on ethnic food is to have genuine dishes from whatever location the menu hails from. My husband has explored many small towns in Mexico, has cooked in a Mexican restaurant and generally refuses to eat at Mexican restaurants on the East Coast because they are usually such a disappointment. But step inside here and you are transported to Mexico(and I don’t mean«tourist Mexico»), from the choice of beverages, the TV channel playing, and especially the authentic food. Try the cemita sandwiches… huge and delicious. I will warn you that the service is slow and not terribly attentive but if you want to eat an authentic Mexican meal, then give this place a try.

I tried to order takeout using their online system. I went to the restaurant 15 mins later, but no one acknowledged me or helped me for another 15 – 20 mins, as there was only one poor waitress working alone on Cinco de Mayo. When I finally got to talk to her, she told me nothing has come through online. Beware if you use their online ordering system, they may never get your order. As I was waiting, I could see both the kitchen and register areas. The cooks were preparing food without gloves, and there were several ants crawling on the counter next to the register and the bar.

This place is a hidden gem. I work nearby and go at least once a week. I absolutely LOVE their chicken burrito, quesadillas, and the staff can make a mean drink. They’ve done some renovations over the past year or so that have made it a little more cozy but they still have a ways to go to make it visually appealing. There’s a random deer’s head on the wall. Not sure why. I would suggest more staff — there is only one waitress(who is very, very sweet) when we go and she’s usually slammed. Sometimes it takes 2 minutes to get our order in and sometimes it takes 15. Regardless, it’s worth the wait for good, authentic Mexican food.

I ordered a shrimp burrito and the shrimp was cold. The entire burrito was cold. Tortilla was cold and split open. Not even grilled to seal it shut. Cheese wasn’t melted, the rice was lukewarm. The refried beans were obviously canned. I’ll try again, but my first impression wasn’t favorable.

I have passed by this place several times on my way to school, but never really thought to stop. I was in the mood for something spicy so I decided to try here before class. The restaurant is small and full of color. I was surprised to see the variety of Mexican cuisine they offer, I thought is was just burritos and tacos. I had the Camarones al Ajillo o al Mojo de Ajo $ 10.00 Special garlic seasoned shrimps. The portion was spot on came with rice and pico every bit was full of flavor. I followed each bite with a cold sip Dos Equis. Can you say satisfied!!! I will definitely be stopping here more often.

WORSTPLACEEVER!!! Do your self a favor, never come to eat at this place the service is really bad and my chicken fajitas were raw. When I told the waittress she just laughed and walked away. I’m never coming back to this trash of a restaurant. It doesn’t even desserve to have one star.

This place flies under the radar I think for a lot of people. I have dined in once here and I order out from here once a month or so. The food has always been great. I usually have the chicken fajitas or nachos, both are wonderful and full of great flavors. There was quite a bit of sticker shock the first time I came here, it is definitely more expensive than what you would think walking in. It’s worth it, but don’t expect the same value as your usual Mexican joint. The service is great dining in, very attentive. However it’s been more challenging ordering for take out/delivery. The delivery service is almost never available, and there have been a few errors with take out orders. Just be sure to check your order before you take it home. The few issues and the high end pricing isn’t enough to keep me away, and it shouldn’t stop you either. Give this place a try!

I got a chicken fajita and beef steak platter with cactus leaves. The beef was so well done to the point where I could not bite it into smaller pieces. It was the toughest piece of beef I have ever attempted to eat… I soon gave up and moved into the chicken. The chicken was also pretty overdone and very dry and flavorless. The beans and rice that came with both were tastier than the entrees. Overall, a disappointment

This place was suggested by a bartender at the hotel we were staying at when I asked for something authentic. It was authentic alright– cockroaches crawling all over the walls. I saw 4. In bright light. In a packed restaurant. Needless to say, we left without eating. The place was packed with Latinos so I’m sure the food is great, but this gringa just couldn’t handle that.

This little restaurant has the most authentic mexican food you can find in around DE and PA. Their Aztec soup is SOGOOD! They also serve beer, margaritas, piña colada, etc.

It saddens me that I have to lower my rating for this place. I have no idea what has been happening lately but the food hasn’t been consistent. One of my favorites has been Enchiladas Verdes. But it’s always different than what I ordered as take-out. There are always items missing that were listed on the menu. Also, I ordered a chicken torta a month or so ago. It was great, peppers and heat and flavor. I ordered one today and they changed it and there are just sad jalapenos and it lost it’s flavor. Oh and heads up, I think the owner is an overweight guy, who is usually sitting in the dining area barking orders at the female waitresses. He also likes to change his prices all the time even if the menu states something different. Like I ordered a piece of flan(btw don’t. It’s bland. If you want good flan, go to Juliana’s Kitchen in Wilmington, DE) and the waitress told me it was $ 2. When she came out of the kitchen with it, the overweight guy asked her how much she was selling it to me for and he told her to charge me $ 5 because it was made«in house.» If it was made in house shouldn’t it be cheaper than him having to bring it in from another maker? Hablo un poco español. The owner reminds me of a guy you would see on Chris Hansen’s «To Catch a Predator» or maybe an undercover 20⁄20 story of a guy smuggling in something. They way he just sits there and everyone is working around him. I don’t know but I think I might be done with this place. I was hoping to be a regular but with these prices(that change whenever the owner wants them to and not listed as the same as on the menu) and with the food being hit or miss I don’t know if I will keep coming back. And if anything there are way too many Mexican restaurants in Delaware to waste my money with a place that can’t be consistent. So sad.

Stopped in for lunch this week and was pleasantly surprised… Good service from pleasant Spanish speaking waitress, a well populated menu and a so-so décor. Chips were served with three distinct sauces and I went with tacos pastor(seasoned pork), saving the tongue, cheek, tripe and eye meats for a later time.

Yay! They’re remodeling! This place deserves this remodeling/upgrading because more people need to know about how good this food is. I have to admit I had the same thing I had last time(sinchronizada and chicken rice soup), but it was just as delicious as it was the first time. However, what I didn’t note the last time is that they bring you 3 kinds of salsa with your chips as a starter. I think their salsa is great. It’s cold, and heavy on the cilantro, which is how I like it. A green chile salsa and a VERY hot salsa are the other selections brought out. My husband had nachos gusto and they were righteous… tons of cheese, veggies, beans. Mucho gusto!!! The service is friendly and they are eager to please. Give them a try and you will be hooked!!!

(4) ~ Overall Food & Service MYMENU: * Sopa Azteca(Tortilla Soup) =(4) very good * Steak Fajitas =(4) very good & spicy! NOTES: Yes, they take Credit Cards. No they don’t serve alcohol, but they do have«Mexican» Coke;-) Mexican Coke uses REAL sugar, not HFCS.

If you’re happening to fly by on RT13 and notice a small, run down yellow house on the side, don’t be discouraged. This is hands down the best and most authentic Mexican food I’ve had. When you step inside there are cases of Jarritos(soda) and avocados stacked in places, Telemundo is on the corner TV, décor and posters are all in Spanish. It’s truly an un-Americanized experience. English is on the menu as more of an afterthought rather than a necessity. The Pico De Gallo is super fresh and is probably the best you’ll have, and I don’t even like tomatoes. The orange sauce they offer with most dishes is properly hot and compliments the rest of the meal nicely. Chicken Quesadillas are enough to fill you up for the entire day. Fajitas are cooked fresh and taste amazing, I was given 8 tortillas and it was enough for 2 people, all for only $ 10. My recommendation is to sit down and eat there, if it’s too«run down» for you then go eat Americanized food at chilis. If you plan on taking out, call ahead, it’s not subway; food this good and fresh takes more time to prepare, probably around 15 – 20 minutes. They also have Molcajetes on the menu, which will probably be my next choice.

Best authentic Mexican in new castle!!! However the building and décor make it look a little dodgey. If you’re prepared for that you’ll have a great meal! I haven’t had Mexican this good since i lived in Los Angeles! When you sit down they bring you a green salsa, red salsa and guacamole all with a nice bite to it! I went there with a buddy of mine we were out the door with tip for $ 25 and got a massive amount of food and 2 Imported Mexican Coca-Cola’s the one’s that come in the glass bottle!
