Stopped in for an order for pickup of breakfast sandwiches and muffins for a sales meeting. Our food was ready when it was supposed to be. The service was friendly. More importantly the breakfast wraps and the muffin assortments were dynamite. Will use this place in the future.

Really bummed. My husband and I have tried this place more than once in hopes that it had been an off day for the café, but sadly both times the drinks were un-drinkable. The coffee drinks had a weird taste, maybe from bad water? Bad quality coffee? The expresso drink was no better & the iced green tea tasted as if it came from a crystal light packet. We really wanted this to be a regular spot for our family, since even the nearest Starbucks is half an hour away, and we would rather support locally owned small businesses anyway, but I just can’t bring myself to pay for such poor quality. The veg sandwich I tried was no good, but in all fairness, several friends have liked at least some of the food, so it may be worth your while.

I was really hoping for a good experience here. My food was tasteless and my coffee had an over powering flavor for a coffee drink. I waited a long time to do this review as I checked out the place again but still was not satisfied.

Its good! All the food and drink I have had there has been good. If you go often enough they know your name and your preferences.

Great food with a different twist for New Castle. The soups are always a good bet, but I like the sandwiches too. I have brought carry out breakfast home for my parents and that was really a treat. If you are in need of a meeting place I think it is one of NC’s best options.

It’s okay. I would gladly pay a bit more for higher quality meats and they sometimes have odd flavor profiles combining sweet, savory, and salty all in one that confuses my palate. Generally, I find the food to be too sweet. It would be awesome if cole slaw was a side option. The service is very slow and I think they are only working on one order at a time. They are slow to greet when you walk in the door and they seem to be adaquately staffed. I go there fairly often because they are the healthiest lunch option in New Castle, but I’d like to see a few changes, and then I would go much more often. I must say that they are very clean and nicely decorated. If I wasn’t just grabbing a sandwich to go then I’d happily sit there for a while and have coffee. Oh! And don’t ask me if I want my pickle. It comes with a pickle. If I don’t want it, I will tell you. You don’t ask me if I want my sandwich without tomato.

This shop is much more spacious and bright than you would judge from the exterior. I came for coffee and to spend a few minutes working online. Nice atmosphere. Looks like a good lunch menu, although I didn’t order food. Surprising find in New Castle.

Very nice, friendly, cozy atmosphere. Great place to meet your boss for supervision! :) I had the hot caramel apple cider this morning and it was delicious, gets me ready for fall. I also noticed too that they have some vegan/vegetarian options! Gotta love that especially in New Castle, IN!

It was ok but I’ve definitely had better. I had a grilled cheese panini and it lacked taste. I’ve had water with more flavor. I also ordered their equivilant to a strawberry Frappé. It also lacked taste. It was an ok experience. If I visited again it would only be for the gelato. I expected more for the price and lack of friendly customer service. They also have limited parking.

Love the Café Royal! Definitely one of the top two places in town for a great coffee, mocha or cappuccino type drink. Very nice atmosphere too! And I meet there often with the guys from Church. Very comfortable seating and a semi-private back room with large-screen TV.

It took a while to get served because this place is busy and business is personal. While I couldn’t eat anything because of allergens, the staff knew what allergens were in the products as the food is made on the premises. Friendly staff, hot coffee, free wi-fi. If you have to be in New Castle Indiana, Café Royal is worth it.

I found this place on accident, I saw their sign(though barely, it’s kind of hard to spot) and turned in because it promised coffee. I was a bit hungry too and wound up getting a panini sandwich with my Latte. The Latte was pretty good. It took a little longer than a Starbucks but it was worth the wait. My Panini was fantastic, I can’t recall the name right now but it had Chicken & Pesto and was very tasty. They’ve got vegetarian options as well, which is important to me as my wife is vegetarian(I’m still a dirty omnivore myself). The service was good, the couple who ran the store were very attentive(even though I had to ask what the Wi-Fi password was they gave it to me with no problem. I guess it was to prevent the business next door from stealing their internets). Anyhow, great place, 2 thumbs up!

I got into town a bit early for a friend’s wedding(and the rehearsal picnic), and wasn’t sure what I would do to kill some time. Fortunately, a search on the iPhone for«coffee» turned this place up(as well as Starbucks, which would have been my last resort). Cute little house on what appears to be the main drag in town, and easy to miss. Walked in, and was surprised with how new the place appeared, with a 20+ foot serving area with two small refrigerated displays, a daily specials menu, etc. The seating area to the left consisted of 9 small tables(2 – 4 tops), and there was a father/son playing Connect Four when I walked in. There’s some couches and things in the back for more relaxed seating. Ordered a green tea(unfortunately, just Tazo teas, but still nice.) The two behind the register, an older man and woman, appeared to be the owners and were super friendly while serving the two women in front of me, answering all their questions, and were supe-helpful when I asked about wireless. I’m not sure why they’ve decided to password-protect their wireless, but after I went to the car and got my laptop, the gentleman asked me about two minutes later if I had any problem accessing the wireless. A genuine inquiry, and obviously trying to make sure all my need were met. Awesome service provided to the random guy who only ordered a $ 2 tea, and definitely more than I was expecting from a town of less than 20k.
