Bowman & Landes Turkeys Farm Market

I love this deli. They carry so many great turkey options and cheeses. I live south of town so fortunately their turkey is AKA DLM turkey. I was told Dorothy Lane Market sources their turkey from Bowman Landes. You can really taste the difference.

How has no one reviewed Bowman & Landes yet? I’m honored. I used to live in New Carlisle, and my extended family still lives in the area. It wasn’t until I was older and became more concerned about buying local meat that I learned that my grandmother has purchased her Thanksgiving turkey from B & L for YEARS. Now that I’m an adult, I buy local meat (preferably organic and/​or free range) whenever possible. Since I’m regularly in the area, I try to stop by their deli store to stock up on turkey products. Not only can you purchase your Thanksgiving turkey, but their deli has a great selection of products, such as deli meat, turkey breast, local pork/​beef/​chicken, cheeses, broth, and noodles. All of the lunch meats are made with their turkey. The turkey pastrami is killer! You can also pick up frozen ground turkey, and they have excellent ground turkey breakfast sausage!
You can support a family-​owned business and eat a free range turkey that lived a happy turkey life! It’s a win-​win, really. The staff here are friendly and helpful, and their prices are more than fair. It’s worth the drive from Columbus to stock up your freezer!

Just tried the Jalapeño Cheddar Smoke Turkey Sausage from Bowman & Landes and I am speechless (literally, because i can’t stop eating turkey sausage). Now, I have stuffed myself on an assortment of their turkey treats over the past 5 days (surprised I still fit in my jeans? Don’t be! it may taste like red meat, but it has all the healthy benefits of poultry. did you know that you can order online??), but this combination of flavors blew my socks off!!! wow. I never knew turkey could taste so delicious. Thank you, B & L. Also, thank you to all the other reviewers who tease my taste buds with talk of butter toffee, jam, and lacey swiss. yum.

I was craving turkey for lunch, so headed to Bowman and Landes while out running errands. Pretty quiet when I arrived, so took my time walking around looking at all the goodies. Lots of turkey products of course, as well as baked goods from local suppliers and Robert Rothschild items as well. Prices are actually cheaper than on the RR website! I ended up with naturally roasted turkey breast, which was so good, turkey ham, Heidi cheese (a lacey Swiss) and cole slaw. Also bought a bag of caramel corn for the hubby. Deli prices are no more than what you’d pay at Meijer and much fresher, I’m guessing. They also have frozen apple dumplings, cakes and pumpkin rolls! This place will be jumping in a couple of weeks, so stop by soon and get some good stuff! I’m heading back before the rush for some of those desserts…

While out for a Sunday drive my hubby and I saw the sign for Bowman and Landes. We stopped in and enjoyed every minute. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us samples of the meats and cheeses. Their selection of deli meat and cheese is AWESOME and better yet it’s for the most part local. Along with their yummy deli selection they also have an awesome locally made snacks and jams. The butter toffee is to DIE FOR! Last but not least, they also have the option to pre-​order turkeys and other fine cuts of beef. I am looking forward to this option for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I will update when that time comes around. In the meantime try this place out. It’s worth the drive.
