This is a nice little seafood market. I came here with a groupon(why not, right?) and will definitely be a repeat customer. Ordered a shrimp burrito, ahi tuna tacos and ceviche. Everything was fresh and fantastic flavors. The burrito had rice, black beans, chick peas and big fresh shrimp. The tacos had mango salsa and a delicious creamy sauce I could have eaten with a spoon. Prices were fair. The prepared foods all looked amazing everything from the veggies to the crab cakes. The man working there who I assume was the owner wasn’t very personable, just to warn you. But the food was great. I don’t think I would order lobster from here though, I’ll stick to Paganos for that. Or stews. They sell clams, mussels, shrimp, several types of fish and a small selection of sauces and marinades to cook with. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

I love this place. The ownership of Fish Tales changed in the spring of 2015 and the new owner cares deeply about the quality of fish and service that he provides.(The previous owner wasn’t paying attention to the details and the store did slip in quality, as evidenced by the poor review by a customer from those days.) If I want to grab an easy meal for dinner that’s healthy and of high-quality, this is the place I go. There are plenty of freshly made sides to round out my meal. All I need to do is cook the fish to my liking and, viola, a home cooked meal for my family. They’ve also catered parties for me in the past. The owner and his team are formerly chefs. They make my life so easy!

This place has the best salads, chowders, and freshly cooked seafood dishes in the area. I took a former colleague here and he loved it as well. A true gem in New Canaan. When the warmer weather hits, I think I’ll try some of their other fresh fish offerings to see how they grill :)

The premier place to purchase seafood. This place is a gem that has revolving seafood high end seafood and access to almost anything. Imported Scottish or Norwegian salmon, day boat dry sea scallops, line caught pumpkin swordfish, etc… The cocktail shrimp are totally radical! We got«lobster bakes» to go(their version of a to go clam bake) at were totally blown away by how much food for the price they gave us. Lobster, corn, mussels, clams, potato salad, cole slaw, butter, lemons. This place has always steered me in the right direction for a diner party. One time, i walked in and they even brought me in the back and cut a fresh sea bass for me and cut it to my specific needs. I completely disagree with Victoria G. When I walked in, the sign on the window says«sushi» grade and coming from a chef, in Connecticut, we have to keep our tuna at or below freezing in order to sell that way. The other tuna they had on display was a yellow fin. FYI… take Victoria G’s comment with a grain of salt!

Best fresh shrimp and scallops I’ve ever had– nothing else compares. The delicious prepared sides are a great addition, makes it a one stop dinner stop. Try the soups, they are great too!

The swordfish, scottish salmon, and halibut are the freshest anywhere, and they always have an amazing variety of oysters, and a polite, extremely knowledgeable staff. This is the best seafood store in Fairfield county, even if the parking stinks.

Don’t waste your money. I went to Fishtales this afternoon and purchased two large tuna steaks. The cost was almost $ 30 which I don’t mind if I am getting good quality. When I got home, unwrapped the fish and started the BBQ I noticed that the tuna steaks were frozen solid. I was shocked and angry. Had I been tricked into buying frozen fish but billed as fresh? Needless to say I had to figure out something else to cook for dinner. I will NEVER go back to Fish Tales. I might as well as have flushed $ 30 down the toilet.
