Very disappointing. No free massage with manicure. Felt snag on nail and asked gal to fix. She said there was none. I got home and YES nail had a snag. Place felt dirty! Many other options!

I’ve been going to Burtis for over 6 years. Any time I try another place because of convenience I’m disappointed and go back. I now drive from Stamford. I get full acrylic tips with gel color, often lasts a month. Kevin and Diana are perfectionists. The most important thing for me is that they are never too thick but always stay on. When acrylic is too thick they aren’t flexible enough for the natural nail underneath, as they grow they hurt when too thick. The few times a nail has chipped or cracked, they fixed them on the fly at no charge. Always clean, always nice. Nancy gives the best massages. I will never go anywhere else. Not worth the risk of disappointment.

My absolutely favorite nail place in New Canaan. My mom and I have been coming here for years and even through a few changes in management, this place has always offered impeccable services, sanitary conditions and a wide variety of colors and brands of polish. I’ve never had a problem they didn’t readily offer to repair or re-do. My mom also likes their membership program!

There are better nail salons in New Canaan than this one with an extraordinarily rude technician who sits in the first chair by the door. Right across the street is a wonderful salon, and there is another across from the New Canaan Diner that is lovely.

Very expensive + sub-par results. The place gets 2 stars because it is clean. Pressure is on to upgrade. Nice ladies, but guy who did pedi left nails rough and not polished looking. No glossy look. Nails are just ok, had perm gel. Way more than it should’ve been. Looks classy, but still lots of non-English conversation and giggling going on. They def know their regulars. Won’t go back.

Went for the first time in a while for nail extensions they turned out great and not only did the owner do them for me but he had his assistant helping and gave me a free 20 minutes back massage he then made sure that I was happy with all of the nails he did a great job I barely had to tell him anything and he did them exactly how I wanted. I would highly recommend this nail salon to anyone I encounter I look forward to coming back in two weeks to have my nails refilled hopefully they will look as gorgeous as they do now Nicole

My experience was a bit different at Burtis Nails. I had a very nice(although very expensive) spa pedicure and she did a very good job, taking a long and careful time. I did feel slightly pressured to having the most expensive one, and with the promise of extra massage time, and I decided on it, even as I passed this offer up on the first pass. The brochure for this service promised a hot stone massage at the end of the pedi as well as 10 minutes of massage(minimum, as I had been promised extra time.) While the pedicure was really good, there was no hot stone massage at the end — hot towels were used, instead. When I sat down to dry, I was immediately asked to pay(that’s usual) and then I patiently waited for the promised back rub. After 25 minutes of obviously looking around from time to time and when my nails were past dry, I finally asked, respectfully I think, for a back massage, saying my understanding was that it was included(as it always is.) The place I usually go to will do it for 15 – 20 minutes. She looked surprised and said, «Oh, you want a back rub?» I tried to explain that it was my understanding that it was included, but she didn’t seem to get that. I felt like she was annoyed that I was asking. As soon as I sat down, she set her timer for 10 minutes(I decided not to make a big deal of the extra time I was promised by the owner) and then proceeded with a back rub. I like and usually have to ask for heavier pressure, but this was so strong that I twice had to ask for more gentleness. Rather than add to the wonderful relaxation I had experienced during the pedicure, it put my neurological system on edge as it tried to defend itself from what felt like a brusque approach. True, I was very stiff and she was just trying to make my muscles more relaxed, but as a frequent and lifelong consumer of massage therapy, I know this only makes the muscles stiffen in defense of the pain. Yes, it was actually painful, a first for me, actually. The timer dinged and that was the immediate end. So yes, a great, if expensive pedicure, but be sure to negotiate with someone what it is you might expect, or you’ll end up as disappointed as I felt at the end. Basically, I felt like a number, not a person, and as soon as I was«processed,» all relationship ended. I can put on my own shoes and don’t mind, but there was no interest at all in what most nail spas typically do, which is to make sure things are dry and you’re all set as you leave.

Clean, polite and very professional. There’s no gossiping between techs where you feel they’re just talking about you and they use sanitized, individually wrapped tools for each patron. I had Ken, who gave me quite possibly one of the reflexology treatments I’ve ever had, and treated myself to a massage after my manicure. This place deserves the high praise.

Great place — fast and friendly service. Clean — sealed set of tools for each customer. Love it!

The best ever. I wish I still lived in New Canaan… driving from Stamford is a bit too much of a luxury just to get my nails done.

This nail spot is immaculate. Somehow, their pedicures last twice as long as anywhere else so I love to visit Burtis Nails. I usually spring for a special pedicure because the girls always take extra care to actually use all of the products advertised, which is a rarity at walk-in nail joints. They are pricey but worth it!
