Don’t let the construction in the area scare you off. Although it says«Road Closed» you can still get through to Mike’s Blueberry Farm on Farina. We found it to be a very pleasant experience with lots and lots of blueberries for everyone at only $ 1.75 a pound. The people who own the farm also have a bakery nearby in Union Pier called Ramberg’s.

I am a bit Biased about Mike’s Blueberies, having paractically grown up on that farm during the summers of the 1960’s and 70’s. The Blueberry farm was started by my Grandfather, Philip Farina and our family owned and ran it during the early to mid 70’s. Mike has done a fine job carrying on the Farm, and it is a joy to make the trio from Chicago and visit. Ironically for someone who spent so much time on the farm, i never developed much patience for the puicking, Just the eating :)

Nobody loves blueberries more than I do, but I have to pay for them AND pick them!!! I didnt mind so much picking the berries — but what I had to do for a glass of milk to go with my cobbler… PS — The parking is ample

I really do like picking blueberries. I find it relaxing. Maybe because I am a farm girl at heart and I like to be outside. I also like getting my blueberries for $ 1.50 a pound. I really love blueberries. My gal pals and I hit of Mike for some blueberry action and had a great time. We filled our buckets, got a little sun, ate as much as we picked and drove home with several pounds of fruit.

This is a good place to go blueberry picking! There were not very many signs for how to get her, but our directions got us there! The blueberries looked and tasted great! They are now $ 1.50 a pound, but that is still way better than you would get in the store! And picking blueberries is fun! The bushes were pretty low here, so I think this would be a great place for kids. They would be able to reach most of the berries!

Picking blueberries is one of our favorite things to do on our trips to southwest Michigan, and we were glad to find this place today, since our other favorite one in Sawyer closed down. The blueberries were plentiful and the bushes weren’t too tall. Everyone gets a bucket, and you hear them go «kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk» at first until the bottom gets covered. After you have picked your fill(I can only keep it up for an hour, and I start feeling sorry for the people who have to do this full-time) you take them back to be weighed. The charge is a whopping $ 1.25 per pound, a fraction of what they cost in the store. Then you take them home and make pancakes, muffins and pies. Mmmmm.
