So I was walking down College Ave on my way to Psychopharmacology class, and see this huge banana Yellow, behemoth of a truck parallel parked by Voorhee’s mall. Curious, I approached and was greeted by a couple cute girls who proceeded to give me the rundown on why this Food truck was so lost from the other grease trucks. Apparently, they’re trying to break with Rutgers notorious grease trucks and instead offer up themselves as a «grease-less» food truck, and are donating their profits to Rutgers against Hunger to «allieviate hunger”(or so the back of their truck says). They hurried me over the side of the truck where I, confused, ordered an Acapulco(sp?) press. This unique sandwich was a quesadilla with Pepper Jack and poblano’s maybe?, which was then layered with a bean-spread, lettuce, and a very on-point salsa, and grilled chicken. It’s hard to explain, but it was like a quesadilla hugged sandwich, and I’ve never had anything like it before. Ironically, despite how delish it looked, I still sent it back. Not because it was bad, ut because it had chicken, and I’m a Vegetarian. They remade it with tasty Tempeh Bacon, a pretty cool vegetarian meat-substitute.
I really was impressed, and washed the sandwich down with a acqua-fresca, which is like watermelon juice, which on a 90 degree day, really hit the spot. Definitely try this place out, the sandwiches are pretty unique, not too expensive, and it’s nice to see someone offering food that doesn’t make you want to take a nap lol.

This is the best food truck to come to Rutgers ever! Blows Greasetrucks away! Why would you want a Fat Darrell when you can have the Fiji BBQ press? I’m pretty sure this truck just launched but I’ve been following them on Facebook and Twitter and have been lucky enough to try their free presses – The Fiji BBQ press was delicious, as were the cannolis and the Scarlet Berry Punch. Agua Fresca is sooo good too! Love the yellow truck and the best part is that when you support the Soupervan, you’re combating hunger in the area because the truck will buy a meal at the NB food bank/soup kitchen for every meal that it sells. Pretty amazing concept. Can’t wait to see this truck rolling around campus regularly, it’s the perfect stop for lunch or a snack. The staff is great too, super friendly and efficient. Love you Soupervan! :)
