The food is excellent, service is great and the ambience is good. The parking situation is crap and you have to pay for it. I will not go again until that is fixed. I’ve thought that before but this time I mean it. Too many good places to go without the incredible hassle both in and out.

We were there for after Symphony Performance and a special birthday — Food was great but Service for this classy restaurant was pretty bad!!! — the server was not very attentive, the server that delivered the food just plopped the platter of oysters on the table and oysters nearly slid out, plopped the hot sauce bottle and said«here just in case you need this» — some attitude!!! not one server came to the table and asked how things were, or if we needed anything else, which in the restaurant business someone should come up to the table about 3 times, and though the food was great, I would not recommend this to place to a friend. they were not that busy. For a place that boast great wine and wine pairings, I just wanted a simple house cabernet and they were out of it… I would give 2 stars to this place

Good place, solid food, good deal with 3 course prix-fixe. We sat at a table, but the place to hang out is the bar, especially for the happy hour $ 1 oysters.

This place is great for the happy hour menu and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic date. I generally only come here for the happy hour menu, but they have great cocktails. I’ve also had dinner here twice, and wasn’t very impressed with the food considering the price. Expect to pay at least 28+ for an entrée though that is on the lower end. Service though is on point, and they have valet which is very much appreciated in an area that is tough with open parking spots. Also a small parking lot at the side/back of restaurant. One star off for the prices, the quality of the food just doesn’t justify the price. Except the happy hour menu! Go for the happy hour menu! Chickpea fries and truffle mushroom pizza are some of me and my friends faves!

Great food and service. Loved my gnocchi dish, it tasted so fresh, if that makes sense. Everything was well presented and we’ll be coming back for sure.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. They were so accommoding to my dietary needs and restrictions. The waiter and waitress whom served us were very helpful and we’ll spoken. This will definitely be a traditional for us and they have set the bar high for our dining experiences.

Well this place sucked. The waitress Anna had a bad attitude. Did not get our order substitution correct. ordered duck with spinach and got told it might not be possible. What came out was 2 ducks with incorrect vegetables and no steak dinner. The pork loin seems to have been acceptable but the dinner was ruined and not worth the high value we will be charged.

Tremendous lunch on a rainy day in New Brunswick. Christmas music and decorations brightened my mood though. Started with a fennel and Parmesan soup which although served a bit too hot was otherwise tasty. Combine that with the spiced blended butter served with bread made it a meal in itself. The chicken thighs entrée served over root veg risotto was great and made even better with the spices added to the breaking it was prepped in. Two glasses of a pretty good blended white called Mustiguillo was the perfect enhancement. As always enjoyed my time in this relaxing place.

Very poor service this evening. Butternut squash gnocchi was sent back because it had NO seasoning. Twenty minutes after the truffle fries came out, we were asked if we wanted more ketchup. At that point, we were done with our dinner and I asked where the first serving of ketchup would be found. My son could not hack through his pork loin which was overdone and tough. Not coming back.

the food is delicious at the frog & the peach, but if you are looking for fast service this might not be the spot for you. however, seats at the bar can be a great way to get around this as well. during my first visit i really enjoyed the grilled octopus salad, and thought that all the portions were perfectly sized. i got a main dish of halibut that was seasoned and cooked perfectly with very well-paired sides. however, i had waited so long for the food and drinks that i got impatient and did not enjoy the meal as much as i might have. when we sat at the bar, our favorite selections were the flatbreads and chickpea fries with a curry mayo. i would pass on the gnocchi, it was pricey and did not really stand out from anything i had tried before. the house wine is also a very nice selection.

We went there following a show at the State Theater. The ambiance was very nice for a quite romantic dinner and our waitress was very nice. Aside from the bread which was very good every thing else said that we should have gone elsewhere. The coattails, which we had to wait 15 minutes for where high octane and overpowering. Neither drink was recognizable by taste. The salads and entrée’s where a visual delight but had«creative» elements that offended our taste buds at times. I had the rib-eye special. It was thin and grizzly. It wouldn’t stand up to fair served at chain steak houses! We passed up deserts and coffee. Maybe to appreciate The Frog & The Peach requires and acquired taste. If so, it’s not one that we care to acquire!

This review is for happy hour 4 – 6:30: Classy, good options, and excellent happy hour prices. Sure, many places offer a $ 5 happy hour wine, but frog&peach won’t give you anything shitty even at $ 5 which I appreciate. Half price appetizers. Their chick pea fries are so good. The menu changes slightly every so often which is nice, but some things will stay constant. I also love their smoked salmon appetizer. Mushroom pizza with truffle oil is on point too. Hell, just try it all. You can’t rly beat their happy hour deals for the types of dishes they are coming out with.

This is one of my favorite places. Ever. Happy hour is a must and they have it on weekends. All bar food is 50% off. The pork belly tacos are excellent. There is always some sort of gnocchi — which are literally little pillows of joy. Amazing ! The flat breads are huge for one person and I always have enough to take home. The burger is to die for and at 50% off almost cheaper than a McDonald’s meal.

This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in New Brunswick! I came here in the afternoon and requested seating outdoors. The outside is a half open seating area where plants adorn the exterior and walls. Since I was here for restaurant week, I got a good deal on food. Three courses for a set price(I forgot how much I paid). The food was delicious. Everything was cooked almost perfectly. I was a bit disappointed at the sushi underneath the fish because they were rather dry. It kind of ruined the taste in my mouth. Service was excellent and I enjoyed the food. I would definitely come back for happy hour this time.

My advice: 1) try to get here for the restaurant week menu. 2) if you can’t make that, try the 5 course peach tasting menu that begins shortly and runs through Sept. 3) Sit at the bar to take advantage of $ 5 wine(plus free glass with Unilocal checkin) as well as half price bar menu. Tonight’s dinner was 5 Unilocal.Best restaurant scallop dish of the year, one of the best desserts. Thanks again to Colleen and her great service and attitude.

My favorite restaurant in the world is once again the undisputed King of New Brunswick, if not King of New Jersey. This whole Unilocal thing has come with an unexpected bit of celebrity, and not always in a good way. I try to tell people all the time that I don’t consider myself a foodie. I’m just a guy who likes good food and enjoys sharing his adventures with others. I’m also happy to spend my hard-earned money rewarding businesses that go out of their way to make memorable experiences for their customers. And above all else, I am honest and fair in all of my reviews, both positive and negative. I have been coming to Frog and the Peach now for close to 20 years. Of course, back in the day I couldn’t really afford to eat or drink here, and only had the luxury of coming because I was friends with a former sous chef who worked here. But over the past three years since moving back to East Brunswick from Brooklyn, my wife and I have consistently made Frog and the Peach our go-to place for date night. We love dining at the bar, as their team of mixologists are second to none, and are some of the nicest people I have ever met. The crowd is always friendly here, too. But it’s the food that always brings me back. I love the dishes that chef-owner Bruce Lefebvre serves up here. I am always willing to try something new when I dine here, because I know the ingredients will be the very best quality and the preparation will always be something special and inventive. But this is also a place I come to for the classics, and anyone who knows me knows how much I rave about the Cacio E Pepe here. And yes, truth be told, I have complained in the past if I didn’t think my meal was absolutely perfect.(Probably making me seem like«that guy» to the hard-working people who make their living here.) As many other reviewers have stated, you do pay a premium to dine here. And because this kitchen has prided itself on delivering perfection since 1983, people like me have simply come to expect that level of perfection on every visit.(That, and the fact that, with babysitter, date night here can cost me in excess of $ 300.) So I take no pride in being that reviewer who complains publicly about his experience, especially when it’s a place I happen to frequent. Last weekend was the first date night my wife and I have been able to have since the summer. And sure enough, we descended on our favorite restaurant. I had forgotten that I was critical in my last review, until I was suddenly greeted by Chef Lefebvre personally serving me my beloved plate of Cacio e Pepe at the bar. No words were exchanged. He simply stated that he hoped I would enjoy my meal. And boy, did I ever. This was without a doubt, the most perfect plate of pasta I have ever eaten — a dish so simple, yet so impossible to get just right. It was magnificent. Everything we ate was magnificent, of course, including an amazing chocolate pretzel, and a peanut butter french toast dessert plate. And service was, as it always is, completely impeccable. I really love this restaurant, and feel very lucky that I can come here as often as I do. It is remarkable when you think of how much change New Brunswick has seen over the last three decades. Yet, through it all, Frog and the Peach manages to anchor things down; a reminder that you don’t have to travel far to enjoy some of the best things life has to offer. I look forward to cementing my dukedom here for many more years to come.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in New Brunswick. Its also a place where my partner and I celebrate every anniversary dinner and sometimes even a Valentines day meal. Needless to say, this place has a very special place in my heart. Their menu items are usually seasonal and will usually change from time to time. So, don’t come here expecting to love a dish one night, and then come several weeks later, as it might not be on the menu again. The one type of menu item, usually found in the Appetizer section is the Gnocchi which they make in house every night(so i’m told). Its the BEST — has great texture, flavor, and is definitely a satisfying dish to share, or eat all on your own. The only down side is that there is no complimentary valet parking.
