This diner was one of the worst experiences I have experienced. I am newer to the New Brunswick area so I’ve been exploring restaurants and places to eat pretty often. I was on an hour lunch break at 11am and decided to stop to get an omelette. I walked in and the entire place smelled like moth balls, there was weird book cases all over the place and it was filthy. I was very hesitant to stay but decided to not judge it off hand and sat down. The server/counter lady was very rude and barely said more than 3 words to me the entire time. I ordered my food, ate it and got out. Noticed the cook wasn’t wearing gloves since the kitchen is in eye sight. The entire time he’s cooking the waitress was cleaning the same area with dirty brown water of some sort. Went home, and all I ate that day was a a salad I made and eggplant that I also made myself. At 3am I got woken up for my fort bout of violent vomiting and two days later I still haven’t been able to stomach food, I’ve had a fever and my entire body had been aching. Whether it was salmonella, e. colli, or something other bacteria, I definitely got food poisoning from this place. Do not go here! You will not have a good experience.

Went in here for the first time today. A bit cozy but I wasn’t planning on staying long anyway. Nice and toasty chicken avocado sandwich. It waz pretty good and I’m glad it wasn’t more expensive than others despite avocado. But then again most sandwiches were over $ 6 and they are not very big.

Pros: –Their House Skillet & omelettes are on point. –I personally like the retro atmosphere. I feel like it’s 1986 when I’m in there. –Good with the coffee refills. Cons: –Rude customer service. Don’t expect a smile or any other common courtesy greeting in this joint. –How about some music? –Customer service. So bad I had to mention it twice.

Food is good if you come bright and early. Got here @ 7:30am nobody here so it’s quiet. If you come after 8:00 it’s a mad house. Owner is a trip… Check her out leaning on the counter talking on cell phone. This will be my last time here. But like I said hits the spot after paying a ticket or after a blood test. Enjoy the pic.

Let me preface this by saying that I want to like this place and been there on several occasions hoping I was just there o a couple of «off» days… However, though the food is okay, the service is horrible and the place is disgusting… I saw who I thought was the owner clip her nails behind the counter, without a care in the world, the tables never seem wiped down, and just a general lack of maintenance. Also, is it a crime to get refills on coffee? I mean I have been the only one there and it seems like a strain to walk over to and refill my cup? I’m summary, there are MUCH better dining options in the area, and even a diner a couple blocks away that is cleaner, more customer service oriented, and takes pride in what they do.

Um okay, I’m a huge fan of breakfast and I thought I would be getting some good food and decent service but oh my freakin’ goodness did this place lack in so many areas! 1. The korean lady who worked as the front counter person and waitress was so unwelcoming. We walked in and she doesn’t greet with a hello nor does she ask if we want to dine in or take out. We awkwardly stood there and ordered our food and then found a place to sit. In addition to this, she seemed to be very pushy and was rushing us to finish up. Not only was she unwelcoming to me and a friend but gave the same exact service to another man who came in about 15 mins after us, except, in a much more rude manner. She started talking on her cell and was literally talking on the phone and taking his order. She quickly wrote down some things and walked away while the guy was still telling her the order. This irritated me very much being that I have worked in food service. 2. The décor of the place is horrible, confusing, and very cramped. Several tables were unwiped and there were many many many bugs and UGH. 3. It seemed like they did not use gloves when cooking. After the guy put in his order, she leaves to start the order and takes out some wheat bread with her bare hands and puts it in the toaster. LIKEWHY. S DKJFBSJBS. I was disgusted beyond belief! I’m just so disgusted and disappointed with this place. Never again. I didn’t have a choice or know of other breakfast places being that I was only visiting. :(

Let me preface this review by saying this is the kind of place you come for breakfast and breakfast only. That being said, I absolutely love this place. Been coming here for years now and the food is consistently delicious. I don’t come here for the atmosphere, the décor or the service, I come here for the food. Since I’m Jamaican, I’m used to receiving subpar service and amazing food, so I guess I have a bit more patience than most. I consistently get a broccoli and cheese omelet and sometimes an order or banana pancakes or French toast. All are delicious. Yes, the service is rough and place can be a bit skeevy, but most times I take the food back to my house I’m only there for a few minutes. The omelet is still the best the best I’ve had, the pancakes are delicious and so is the French toast. The food is made right in front of you and is usually ready in 5 – 10 minutes. Again, from a breakfast standpoint, the food at this place is awesome. I haven’t ordered lunch before and don’t really plan to. If you are in New Brunswick and looking for a delicious breakfast, this is the place to come. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall, but the food is worth it. Specifically the broccoli cheese omelet, pancakes and French toast. All winners.

Burger was ok. Service was ok until one of the wall art fell on me as I was getting up to pay. Although i apologized for bumping into this item, The waitress/owner who spoke little English was more concerned about this chipped porcelain item than whether or not I was ok.

Skip this one. Went for breakfast, got a fly in my homefries. All the restaurant did was take the fly out of the homefries and give me back my plate! Yuck! Service was terrible as well!

I ate their a couple of weeks ago while in town. I ordered the breakfast special but got something else altogether. The food was good and they did not seem to understand English all that well so I didn’t mind. When I went the next morning to eat Breakfast again the diner was empty except for the Mom & Pop. The woman had her back to me and did not notice me. The Pop was sitting at one of the tables with his bare foot on the chair and he was clipping his toe nails. I thought about the Breakfast I ate the day earlier and I actually felt sick. I was so grossed out by this I just turned around and left. It has been annoying me ever since. This was the only place in town other then Hotels that actually cracked eggs for breakfast. I just keep thinking what did I actually swallow when i ate there, err gross. I understand that gross things happen at food establishments behind the scene but this guy just looked up at me and continued to clip his toe nails.

Pros: — good pancakes — good coffee for those who like it black Cons: — Not enough waitresses/waiters — Slow to refill coffee There were a number of things I found odd about this little diner. With a person running to the back with a 12 inch chef’s knife and my table neighbor having a gong on the table to hit when they were ready to order food it is easy to understand why. It’s true, there were a few downsides to this place but at the same time the food was delicious. Another thing I found nice about this place is how friendly all the other customers were. Everyone was so easy going, chatting a little bit with table neighbors(just some small talk). Overall, it’s a chill joint and I really do recommend it.

This is a hole in the wall divey diner on George street with mom and pop owners. I love them because they make amazing sandwiches and soups. There’s a sandwich called the California something, and it is awesome, it’s chicken, avocado, tomato and russian dressing on perfectly grilled rye bread, amaaaaazing. Split pea soup is also awesome. I don’t go here for ambiance or service, just great food.

This place is very old and tired. Ordered a «Cuban Sandwich» which turned out to be a slice of ham, some terrible dry white meat turkey, and a pickle slice served in a flattened sub roll. I’m sure the owners work hard and mean well, but it still doesn’t save an awful meal in a crummy environment.

Nice Mom and Pop diner on otherwise bland street. I had an Iron Man/Woman fruit smoothy just for the name and a shrimp parm sandwich. It was all good. Place was clean, staff nice and there was enough camp crap scattered about to keep me amused. Michael Jackson on a tricycle, bad John Lennon portrait, oddly serious drawing of a pigeon that I’d have liked to take home. New Brunswick is a pit — this isn’t a bad pit stop.

Typical diner… nothing special. I had a Cuban sandwich which was good but very salty. After my first bite my glass of water was empty which my waiter forgot to fill after we requested a refill. I guess being in a college town this would be a good place to go to after a night of partying.
