2÷21÷16 had to make a Unilocal account to give this place a review. 1st the atmosphere could be better you can barely tell if it’s open unless you peek inside its so dark not enough lighting, 2nd I ordered the Nacho Supreme when my plate came I was taking bites and noticed there wasn’t no pickled jalapeños I asked the waitress for some I got a plate w/chopped Serrano peppers o. O? Next my sons plate came I ordered him chicken nuggets and fries when I saw him eating the fries I asked him why wasn’t he eating the nuggets he said they tasted weird so i tried 1 and it didn’t even taste like chicken!!! Tasted more like over used oil and they were super greasy(McDonalds chicken nuggets at least taste like chicken) This place was a true disappointment.

Sunday 312016,I went to have Dinner with my girlfriend and her son and i was so dissapoinment. First thing: i’m a Mexican but the food in this place is not real mexican, because they have some Tex-Mex dishes. And i had chilaquiles which they were not to good and spicy, i had a small portion and comes with 2 over easy eggs(they were over cooked) and a small piece of meat which it was no fresh at all. The waitress wearing a jeans and a pink T– shirt and the cook a black t-shirt I think the should be in a good attire like some Mexican Restaurants In the country Well, while i was taken a bite to my crispy tortilla and dipping in the salsa verde the cook went to the counter i think to get more salsa verde for my chilaquiles and he was pouring his finger in to the frypan tasting if it was spyce or waterver. And i saw him and he show me his frieking tongue and laugh with the host/waitress Next time i call to health departament to check this place. Because when i went to the restroom the kitchen(which is next to the restroom) Seems disgusting. They were not attentive No kids menu So i give no stars at all

This place recently changed their name to Jalapeño Mexican Grill & Deli. The customer service is terrible. Every time I go in there they just look at you until you ask for something. No greeting, no thank you, nothing! I ordered chicken tacos and guacamole. It was okay. Nothing special. So if you like okay Mexican food and horrible customer service this is your spot.

The best Mexican omelettes — order the Veracruz, but they may say«no guac», one of the others is an excellent substitute. Could use better AC in the summer.

A great spot for a quick sit down meal or takeout. I’ve had better Mexican tacos, but everything is yummy and authentic! So much better(and better priced) than all other Mexican options nearby.

Gave my roommate and me food poisoning. I love Mexican food enough that I might risk it again, but the food here was only so-so, and it’s not like the area lacks Mexican options. I doubt I will ever be back.

I think this is a perfectly fine place to grab a meal on George street. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars because that’s where it falls for me. Let me describe the pros. The menu seems to be authentic. It’s not Chilli’s or taco bell, and it seems that there are plenty of people patronizing the place that know more about Mexican food than me. The food is also pretty good, it’s not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but everything seems to be home made and fresh. Everything is also resonably priced too. The only cons, is that the place is a bit dingy. It could use a solid sprucing up. The host/waitress also weren’t all that friendly. My gf also wasn’t wild about some of the meat quality. It was too fatty for her liking, but I think that’s a cultural thing, and not necessarily a huge issue. I had chicken dishes and enjoyed them. I think its a great little lunch spot, but not mindblowing in terms of being a great Mexican Restaurant.

Came here to meet some friends on a Sat evening. The staff was nice/humble and décor had color. Not sure if it was the time we went but the place seemed mediocre with the cleanliness. I had an «agua de Jamaica» that I wasn’t too fond of(it didn’t taste fresh). However, the vegetarian«huarache» and house chips were very tasty!

walked in during the strange limbo time between lunch and dinner to find the place deserted… usually a bad sign. but the waitress was kind, the chips were addicting, and the fajitas were steaming delicious. i’d definitely go back!

My first time at this establishment and most certainly not my last. I only ordered the chicken flautas and they were great! The best ones I have had in town. I can’t wait to go back and try their chimichangas

a decent place a minute’s walk from work. good for lunch, cheap for dinner, open all afternoon, excellent salsa, mexican breakfasts like huevos rancheros and con chorizas all day, lotsa good items downmenu/offbeat(to gringos), nice hole-in-wall atmosphere otherwise hard to find on a main new brunswick street. a tell: on weekends it’s full of new brunswick and nearby mexicans who’ve got closer places they could go to but don’t. the place has changed hands in recent months and overall improved. if i could, i’d give it 4.5 stars.

I finally found a mexican place in new brunswick! You can tell it’s good mexican when it’s not slathered in cheese and it still tastes delicious. I got the flautas and they were very tasty, I also sampled my boyfriends chicken chimichanga. The chimichanga was HUGE, and very delicious! They give you fresh salsa and tortilla chips when you sit down, the salsa is very good and not burn your face off spicy. I love spicy but the salsa was delicious without it. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars and not 5 was because the food was a bit slow coming from the kitchen, but it’s obvious that everything is made fresh. I definitely will be dining here pretty frequently.

Pretty awesome street style Mexican tacos. Definitely try the goat and lengua tacos and ask for the spicy salsa verde.

I come here quite often as its close to my office and thee food is good and reasonably priced. Also, service is quick! I had the Chili Rellenos today and it is pretty good. Probably a bit too much cheese for my liking, but good. Comes with the standard sides of black beans, rice and chips. For 9.25– you can’t beat it!

So far, I like the Cuban Sandwich and chipotle burrito. Def worth it. Free chips are good, but the salsa is lacking. Anyways, a better alternative to chipotle by far. What I like about it is that they use flour tortillas-I’m not a fan of cornmeal tortillas although it’s more authentic. Definitely try the tongue taco, arabian taco, and the horchata-not watered down and def worth it.

Ok I am not going to lie but I was not the biggest fan of Mexican food up until my coworkers suggested Fiesta. I was very hesitant about the choice of Mexican, but my coworker assured me that $ 2 tacos was a steal. So I went along with the idea. I ordered two orders the pork hard tacos and let me tell you. I won’t be going back to Taco Bell anytime soon. The pork was soo tender and juicy for the small pieces that were in the taco. I am not a big fan of sour cream or guacamole and they had that on the side, which I was surprised since they usually just throw that stuff straight in in authentic Mexican spots. The service wasn’t amazing and wasn’t horrible at the same time, so just about right. Bottom Line: If you need a place to give you a different idea of what Mexican food is like, Fiesta is a great spot to look into. Pretty cheap when it comes to the tacos, but not quite sure about the other dishes. However, my co-workers never say no when Fiesta is brought up as an idea for lunch. Definitely a spot to check out if you want something waaay better than Taco Bell.

I went in for soft tacos this time and walked away very disappointed. They use flour tortillas, which were cold when I received my order. In addition, what I got was more of a fajita than an authentic Mexican taco. Was it not safe to assume that my tacos would be authentic since it was being made by actual Mexican people? Anyway, the soft chicken taco was this: mozzarella cheese, sauteed green peppers and onions, and chcken in a cold flour tortilla. Please tell me: in what world is this considered a taco and not a fajita? Also, the people that were working there were busy buying cheap jewelry from some guy when I walked in. They didn’t seem at all pleased that I walked in when I did, even though it was another two hours before closing. The counter lady gave the cook my order and went back to trying on necklaces. The cook, who was also looking at the jewelry, angrily muttered something in spanish. It was clear he didn’t want to be bothered with cooking my order. Not cool. Their flautas are good but their service SUCKS. I’d rather trek over to El Gallo for better food and great service.

Only been here once and had the grilled chicken torta which was great. I ordered to go and 4 blocks later torta bread was already too soggy for my likes(only beef with the food). Regardless it was full of flavor and only 6 bucks. Updated review after a few more visits…

We are staying at The Heldrich again and were shut out for sushi so opted for Mexican. My beau picked an excellent one — there was a choice of three right in a 4 block area! This place wasn’t a crappy franchise had such authentic yummy food(steak flautas — appetizer; chicken burrito, steak and onions, black beans and rice). Nothing was too spicey — my only MINOR complaint was that the VERYFRESH guacamole had a bit too much lime in it. Reasonably priced and very nice people. Major credit cards accepted! WILLGOBACK!

— Food is good but can tend to be spicey — Prices are equivalent to Qdoba prices — Service: friendly but they don’t understand English much — You can sit inside or get the food to go — Credit cards are not accepted
