I’m currently a broke, college student about to enter his Senior year at Rutgers, so naturally Im going to gravitate toward pizza joints. Douglass pizza is a relatively cheap and convenient place to eat, especially if you live upstairs in the Rockoff Hall Apartments(which I do). Their pizza is slightly on the cheesier side, which is kind of bummer, but I don’t mind too much because they’re pretty large and filling for the price of about $ 2.25/slice with toppings and $ 1.75/cheese. I’ve also ordered their grilled chicken salad, ravioli, gyros, hamburgers, and buffalo wings, all of which are hard to mess up and they do a pretty good job at accommodating to your specific requests, for example, asking for light dressing or a lot of buffalo sauce on the wings. I would give the food about a 3.5 only because there isn’t anything really special about their seasonings, it’s pretty basic stuff. Plus, I’m more of a sauce guy when it comes to my pizza. Now, the reason why I rated this pizzeria a 3⁄5 stars instead of 4⁄5 is because of their one bearded employee. I’ve come in on multiple occasions where I would ask him simple questions about a particular dish and he’d give me a bunch of attitude. There is not a time I walk in where if I see him I do not feel uncomfortably annoyed. The other two chefs are really polite however which is why I stay coming back. It makes me feel bad because I’m not being ignorant on purpose, that’s the reason why I ask questions and want to know more about what I’m eating. So, sorry bearded guy if I offended you.

My husband and I order from this restaurant frequently. Our favorites are the meat lovers pizza and the chicken fingers w/honey mustard sauce. Phenomenal and always so fresh!

Had a slice of eggplant and ricotta and mushroom cheese, both pretty tasty and has that nice thin crust and crispness to them that I love. Not overly saucy and lets the toppings and cheese be the star. Best aspect was taking care of my son with a custom side order of spaghetti and meatballs which they served on an actual plate since we were eating in. Service gets 6 stars from me, staff was friendly and accommodating and best of all for a great price. Definitely a college staple of the area, wasn’t sure what I was getting into based on the outside since its in sort of a strip mall building near campus but inside feels like a great local pizza joint.

Italian Cheesesteak or the Buffalo Chicken Pizza are my go to items here. They never disappoint. Wings are pretty good too. They have seating for about 30 people. There is a parking deck attached to the building but you have to pay for parking.

Got the pizza with toppings: buffalo chicken, grilled chicken, turkey bacon, beef pepperoni. Pepperoni and buffalo chicken were the best. Grilled chicken was okay. Meat was halal. Service is great.

I come here for their wings. Their sandwiches are good, there are better sandwich spots out there but DPs is an institution for wings. Order any of their wings and enjoy, they do them right. The cheesesteak is a hit of miss usually. Pizza’s great too but also a hit or miss. Place is pricey. But the wings are worth it. Just trust me on this.

If I could give 0 stars I would. A slice is $ 2 or more. I got 2 pepperoni slices, which were so bland. There was no tomato sauce, that’s why. The cheese was tasteless and the dough was doughy. GROOSSGROSSGROSS Also, when I went t pay the guy at the register was rude. I asked if I could pay with my credit card and he said«no, singles». Um yes cave man. Never coming here again.

They have always been good. Staff is friendly ~ food is fresh & good. Place is always tidy. A great reputation for a long time. Go in, EAT!!! Or if you are local like we are — call from the comfort of your home! They’ll deliver! You’ll like it! OH! How many $$$$‘s? Depends if you order a slice, a pie, or the whole store, ya know?

Cheap, but good pizza. $ 2 per slice for plain cheese. I’ve come here twice when I’m in the neighborhood. They have a decent amount of slices on display, as well as sandwiches, pasta, etc. It has a convenient location to the college dorms and the new apartments across the street, but street parking is a little tricky for folks who don’t live within walking distance.

Nice spot to quickly check in for lunch. Food items are typical pizzeria type items. I enjoy the cheesesteak and fat sandwiches here, the portions are big and the food is served hot and quick.

I ordered wings from here and they were delicious. However, about two hours later I started suffering from the effects of food poisoning. I hadn’t eaten anything in hours so I’m not sure I could attribute the incident to anything else. Currently I’m still sick, which has botched my plans for the evening. I’m not sure if the restaurant should be blamed or whether this was an aberration. Needless to say though, I won’t be eating here again.

This place offers a lot more than just pizza! They also sell hot sandwiches, wings, and pasta. I’ve been a few times when I was hanging out with my friends in Rockoff Apts. It’s a very convenient location right outside of the college apts. However, the pizza is nothing special or memorable. It’s good for a quick fix! Also, the pizza wasn’t very tasty or flavorful, so I had to add a lot of garlic power and dried hot peppers to enhance the flavors. The prices are about normal, about $ 2 for a plain slice.

This place is pathetic. Staff is so cheap about their sauces. They say«yes, we have included the sauce in the bag» but when you get home, there’s no damn sauce! Call them up and they don’t apologize. Happened 3 times already.

This place always has great hot subs so this time I got Italian cheesesteak which comes mixed with peppers, onions and french fries although I could do without the onions. We also got a large buffalo chicken pizza and got some wings to go which were pretty good the last time I got food from here.

Cheap Pizza and you can tell how cheap it is by the way it tastes. Only plus is the location.

I eat here at least once a week which is probably why I’ll join the Freshman 15. What can I say? This place is great if you know what to get. I usually order the mozzarella fries/sticks or a fat sandwich(so far I’ve only ordered the Fat Boy).

Yuck… Douglas Pizza was never good when I went to Rutgers and it hasn’t changed in the last five years years. The pizza is always greasy and always has a bad taste. I think it’s a combination of a bad sauce and bad cheese. Also, their fat sandwiches were bad too. The chicken steak they put in their chicken fat cat(my favorite fat sandwich) always tastes funky to me. The place itself is very clean and the guys working there are nice. Just the food is not good.

Positive: Good quality cheese steaks and fat sandwiches in a great location unbeaten by surrounding«halal» restaurants in downtown New Brunswick Negative: There is nothing exceptional for which I would drive here over and over again unless if I went to school/work in the area. Overall: Good quality food that you can’t beat when going to Rutgers University or visiting New Brunswick.

A plain slice will run you around $ 1.75. Nothing extraordinary, slightly flavorless. A pepperoni slice is $ 2.25. I had to load my slice up with all sorts of powders and pepper flakes just to make it taste like anything. I couldn’t even taste the cheese. BUT — and this is a big«but» — they have some of the best garlic knots I’ve ever tasted. Such a simple dish but some places can royally screw it up. $ 1.50($ 1.61 with tax) gets you five garlic knots and marinara sauce. Delicious. Definitely college food… cheap, delicious college food. They also serve chicken sandwiches, burgers, fat sandwiches, pasta, gyros, all that good stuff. I find their pasta to be slightly overpriced but I wouldn’t idulge in that here anyway.

WOW! AMAZING Cheesesteaks! Amazing food at very good prices. The setting is clean and very nice. This is the NICEST Douglas Pizza and better than the other two. You definitely want to take the time out if you are in the area and visit this place. I am kind of scared of writing this review because I don’t want this place to get over flooded. This is a nice little gem.
