This place is great. Not a bad seat in the house! I have enjoyed many plays here, but the one that stands out most is the Twilight Zone play where they reinacted 3 old school Rod Serling Twilight Zone episodes. They also have«pay what you can» which is great if you want to see the show but do not have much scratch on you. I always try to give as much as I can though because that is how they stay in business. I love the selection of fresh baked goods they have at the snack bar as well. I am so happy this place is local to me! Such a wonderful way to spend an evening out.

The Hole in the Wall Theater is an amazing community theater. Not only does it put on good shows, it also actively encourages its patrons to become involved with the theater. I saw my first show here in 2001 and started volunteering in the beginning of 2002. After several years, I even got up on stage and acted. The theater has all kinds of shows. Some of my favorites were: «1776», «Bat Boy: The Musical», «Lint!», «Barefoot in the Park»… The list goes on and on, I can’t name them all. There are many regular volunteers who often produce and direct. Their talent and experience help even those new to acting to put on a good show. At the very least, see a show here. If you like what you see, consider volunteering or becoming an active member at their general meetings. Volunteers can help with all sorts of projects. Help is needed with set construction, concessions at intermission, lighting and sound tech, etc. I knew nothing about theater lighting when I first volunteered, but they were happy to train me. Within a short time, I was running lights for their shows. If you’re interested, you can check their website to see when their next audition or general meeting is being held.

The Hole in the Wall Theater is an awesome place to see real local theater and improv comedy. The staff are willing to help you get your show on their stage. They’ve been very good to the local improv scene, putting on shows by Sea Tea Improv, the CT Comedy Cage Match series, sketch comedy by Asylum Attic, Matt Sacculo, and Laughterhouse Five, and other shows for up-and-coming local comedians.

Caught the last performance of Death of a Salesman 8⁄4. Fantastic cast! Great performance! Great little community theater. well worth the trip up from Westerly RI. Place is spotless and air conditioning works great. atmosphere is very friendly, no theater snob pretentiousness at all. Home made cookies and pastries, coffee, soda. just a really wonderful place that exposes people to theater in a very friendly way. My 14 year old daughter really enjoyed the play, despite having more questions on the way home about the play than I was able to handle… made me really examine Millers play in ways I had not before. Like one other reviewer mentioned however, intermission might be a good point to come out and make sure your car is still where you left it… lol.

Every once in a while when we were on a trip to a city — other than somewhere like New York or Toronto of course — we will be able to catch a show. In this case, it was the Hole in the Wall in New Britain, which is just outside of Hartford. The name is rather descriptive, though it gives you the idea the you are going to something that seems like a dive, when in reality, it is a nice little theater, it is just not particularly large. If anything, the name could apply to the surrounding area, which seems somewhat dicey — but then the«hole» gives you relief from that area, as it is actually quite nice inside. For our performance, the theater was packed, and it was a reasonable job by those involved. Though you are only a couple of hours from Broadway, there is a reason that the players are at the Hole in the wall and not on the Great White Way. Of course, you are going to find considerable savings in your ticket price, parking and likely a whole lot less traffic too, so your evening could be much more enjoyable than taking the ride into the city. Just sit back, enjoy the ride, and you should be just fine. If your car is there when you get out.

The Hole in the Wall is an awesome little theater. The set up is very cool, although it is pretty small. It only holds 99 people, and there is no bad seat in the house. They also do not have a set ticket price. All shows have a suggested donation, but if you cannot afford it, they will let you in for less. During intermission or before the show, treat yourself to some dessert. They sell tons of homemade desserts all of which are very delicious, definitely worth it. Also if you want a little something to wash it down, they do allow you to bring a bottle of wine into the show with you, although they do not sell it. One of my favorite things about this theater also is that they don’t do the typical shows that everyone else does. They do a lot more of the new and edgy shows. The one down side of the theater is that they are not in the best of areas.
