Beautiful, quiet, and nice place. In summer, swimming or bbq would be nice. (be aware of tons of animal poops on the ground. Do not lay down!) In winter, it will be freezing cold but the landscape is just beautiful.

This is a great park and actually has two entrances to it. The first is just west of 35W and is accessed by taking the first exit past 694. This exit will get you to the history center, pavilion, beach and play ground. The second, is located just west of 35W on 694. Here you will find a fishing pier and boat launch. This is where you’ll find me and my lab, swimming in the spring fed waters of the lake. You literally can see the sand bubbling from the eastern shore from the fresh water going into the lake. There is an extensive trail system for those that like to bike and walk and the history of the lake(as can be read in markers) is also quite fascinating. My only beef is about some of the people that fish there and who don’t pick up their trash along the shore. I’m sure it’s not all fisherman but whomever it is, please pick up after yourselves.
