The river bend cabins a very nice. Hardwood floors, full kitchen. And plenty of sleeping space, two queens and a pull out sofa bed. The cabins come with early access to a few slides and after hours pools open until midnight, for over night guests only. One word of advise. This place is better for kids seven years and older, if you don’t want to be stuck at the kiddie pool all day. The rides here are awesome! But you need to be a strong swimmer for the amazing river rides. In all its a great time. We will be back!

We bought a 2-night Valentine’s Day package for $ 89/night. It included a chilled bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Both were very nice. However, we stayed in the oldest part of the«resort» and in spite of recent renovations, it was hardly what we expected based on the photos used for the Living Social deal. There is a very active train route that seems to be about a mile or so from the resort. Trains were active through the night, complete with train whistles blaring until at least 11 p.m. At one point, the mirror on the wall was rattling due to the loud train. Bed was hard and the room was very dimly lit. And, there was no mention in the Living Social description that the water park was closed for the season. There went my plans for Saturday. Our room, 206, had just been renovated but the electrical outlet in the bathroom wasn’t actually connected to any electricity and the mixer on the shower head blocked the flow of hot water. Yes, the front desk clerk sent someone to fix the water problem, but not before we had to endure barely lukewarm showers. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

Stayed here with the family. 4 adults and 5 kids. Best vacation ever! We stayed on the new side of the park but the other side was an easy shuttle ride away. Every staff member we talked to was very nice and helpful. The park was kept clean as was our room. I gave 5 stars because we had a great vacation but one complaint was I think they over sold that the resort guest were going to get access to the park before and after closing. Very little is open. But I would 100% go again.

The condos is at a hefty $ 430/night and the place should costs $ 430 a month for the poor accomodations, poor upkeep, décor. Besides the convenience of being close by and the early entry and 1 hr late to use the Surf(only 1 attraction stays 1 hour later) It’s overpriced.

When visiting the Schlitterbahn Resort Waterpark(amusement park) whatever you do, don’t miss the –other– Schlitterbahn(yes there are two!) called the resort at the rapids. The Schlitterbahn Resort at the Rapids is the leisure park when thousands of people tube down the Comal River. Anyone that knows about it knows what I am talkin’ about. It’s a tragic shame to live in Texas or even go to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and miss out on this. To begin with there are no ride tickets required and no lines. Entrance is only $ 9 for the whole day and you can rent a tube for $ 7 or bring your own. Aside from beach volleyball and in ground pool the real cultural thing to do here is walk up the Comal River, jump in up under the bridge and raft your way down linked with your friends or on your own. The water is nice and cool and very clean coming directly from underground springs. On a weekend afternoon(like yesterday June 28th) you’ll find thousands of people(and a few dogs even) dotting the waters. You’ll run into other people(but everyone is cool), you can drink beer and smoke on the river, you cab bring ice chests(including ones with your stereo and DVD player in them) and have a floating party. Some groups of people create tube islands by the sides and have day long parties right there without getting out of the river. Family friendly, and there’s even super cheap«hotel» rooms(we call em cabins) to crash in if you want to make a whole weekend of it as many people do. Our visit yesterday was a special one as it marked the 50th year that my Uncle has tubed down this section of the Comal River(not to be confused with the Guadalupe River). He started tubing down this thing at age 7, in 1959.
