Love this place! We were there on a Sunday afternoon and saw a great band, Backhand Betty. The setting was perfect… the right amount of shade and sun. The staff is super-friendly. They have a good selection of beer and wine. The draft beer was ice cold, just like we like it. The food was delicious! We had the humdinger and a brisket sandwich. Yum! My only regret is that we didn’t discover this amazing beer garden earlier in the summer… it would definitely have been our go-to place for a laid back afternoon of drinks and live music.

Our food didn’t come for about 40 minutes but was due to a mix up in the kitchen(so we were told when our good finally arrived) but the waiter(who was probably one of the restaurants owners) apologized for the wait and gave us two complimentary pecan pies and a huge brownie for the 2 kids! He explained they were short handed that day, and he was sorry he couldn’t get the food out faster. This restaurant cares about it’s costumers and has a very welcoming feeling! It also very cute! I was happy when I left despite the hunger I felt while waiting so long for my sandwich. Haha If you are in Gruene, this is the place to go! And order a slice of their pecan pie while you are there!

My friends had their wedding reception here last Thursday and it is an awesome outdoor venue. The beer garden is well shaded and they have great beers on tap and even catered the reception as well with some awesome BBQ! I will definitely be back to try their regular menu of german salads and yummy-sounding sandwiches the next time I’m in Gruene!

One of my favorite little spots in Gruene. Great setup with good beer and live music. On a beautiful day, it can’t be beat. They have a perfect space for a day out in Gruene. Don’t miss out! Can’t comment on the food because we didn’t eat. But, hey, ALCOHOL!

Boho bites literally«bites» Food was flavorless. Took forever to arrive at our table. The beer and the ambiance are fairly good. There’s broken glass all over the ground. Not a good place for kids.

I had the Humdinger Sandwich… it was Awesome!!! Pulled pork, sausage, home made pickles & coleslaw! Complimented with a cold Krombecher beer. Potato salad was excellent. My wife had the Rueben sandwich… Best one she’s ever had! Great place to enjoy on a Sat afternoon listening to a talented local band!

Frozen blueberry pomegranate wine for $ 3.75…yummy!!! Cute little place to grab a bite or a drink and sit outside while shopping. They have restrooms as well so nice place to take a break and rest in between stores.

Boho Bites is a find. Great, freshly made sandwiches and salads served in a leafy, rustic, dog-friendly courtyard nicely tucked away from the bustle of Greune weekend traffic. We split the zaftig Reuben(a steal at $ 6.50), which our server halved and plated separately without any prompting from us. We also shared a slice of the towering, homemade strawberry pie($ 3), topped with whipped cream and cradled in a delicious flaky crust. All this and two iced teas came to just $ 13.50, which is a bargain deluxe for tourist-targeting Greune. We’ll most definitely be back!

My husband and I were here recently and were looking for a place to get a quick, cheap bite. We didn’t want to go to any of the restaurants swarming with people, either. We were walking from the coffee place where we parked when we stumbled upon Boho Bites accidentally. On a busy Sunday afternoon in Gruene, this place had very few people. We ordered chili cheese dogs and sodas from the nice gentleman behind the counter. The food was quick and it was the BEST hot dog I’ve had. The dog itself was meaty, not at all fake tasting like other hot dogs. The chili was good(but could use a bit more seasoning). Even better than the dogs was the side of potato salad. Oh my goodness, so delicious! The courtyard was shaded nicely with trees and umbrellas and the breeze made for a lovely afternoon. We will definitely be back!

Bless this place, down the street from the monstrosity that was once the amazing though smaller Grist Mill. How I miss those days when the shops were quirky and there was just such a German flare. Boho is a callback to those days. Boho gets such a high rating for the reason that A. It is doing what Grist Mill once did, bringing Greune tourists fresh, delicious food. and B. It is affordable, easy and quick. As far as I can tell, it is mom and pop owned and run. The meat on a bun combos go well with the beer offered. My friend and I enjoyed homemade kraut and bratwurst on a soft, perfectly sized roll. The potato salad is fresh and full of flavor, spices and actual chucks of veggies. I saw another sandwich being made, one with pulled pork and sausage. Whoa, that is a lot of meat; I could almost picture the German-Texan 10 miles away picking up the scent of that sandwich. While you eat, you enjoy a secluded, rock patio area full of shaded seating and plenty of elbow room. Thanks, Boho, for carrying on the tradition of a little town known for being unique, friendly, and German.

I am now convinced the sole purpose for me ever owning an iPhone is so I can search Unilocal for«dog-friendly» places to dine while on the road in the middle of nowhere… Thankfully on this day I got a little help from my connected backseat driver:) On the way back from hiking in Spring Branch we took a short cut and got lost near Gruene — my backseat driver was in need of beer searched«biergarten» and found this place on Unilocal. And what an awesome Unilocal search score! Boho Bites is a charming dog and kid friendly tree covered courtyard with lots of garden foliage and colorful flowering pots hanging from the trees. You order at the walk up outdoor counter from a limited menu of German based bar food — sandwiches, hot dogs, sides and snacks with weekly specials. The Guy says they have a «limited but good selection of bottled and beer on tap» I tasted his Pilsner Urguell(sp?) and it was better than I remember beer tasting — I am not a beer drinker so disregard my thoughts. I did however very much enjoy my Pulled Pork Sandwich with special Boho Coleslaw on a fresh and tasty bun that was perfectly paired with in house homemade Lemonade! For me the perfect score after a long day of hiking and driving — with still another hour plus drive ahead of me! If not already exhausted and the designated driver I would have loved to try their frozen Peach Bellini!
