They are building a home for a close friend of mine. I know a little about building. Run! Run your ass off if you can… I’ve heard about bad builders but these take home the award for it.

We recently moved into our AJ Signature home in August of 2014. We felt they did an excellent job of building our custom home using the latest materials and did this in a very cost effective way. We would recommend to anyone looking to build to give them an opportunity to bid on your project. When you compare what they do to other builders in the area, you will see they do have a good system going. As a business owner myself, I would often question the negative reviews put on line as in a lot of cases they are malicious or competitors trying to make their competition look bad. We are very happy with our home and will use them again for our future projects.

DONOTUSETHISBUILDER!!! I agree with the other review on Unilocal House built this year and the company is terrible Zero communication between AJ, the subs, each AJ employee, etc. Numerous cut corners caught during installation, delay after delay with subs not showing up to complete their work, 6 – 7 month timeline provided during initial contract, close to 12-months to complete and additional punch items still not completed. I was told they were a good company before 2012, but are now building 2−3x more houses year with the same amount of subs and employees, so no wonder their customer service is pathetic. Pay a little more and get a quality builder that will build a much better house, less frustrations, organized, complete in a timely fashion, doesn’t lie, actually visits the job site on a consistent basis to provide updates on progress … just disappointed we chose AJ

We were disappointed with the building process. There were many delays and several times the construction did not match the plans. For example: walls in the wrong places, doors framed in at the wrong places, and wrong color roof. These problems were eventually corrected by the Builder after great pushing on our part. Communication was not as frequent or timely as we had been sold would be the case with the«Anderson Jenkins Signature Experience. Rarely was there onsite supervision from an Anderson Jenkins staff member. The builder has honored it’s warranty agreement and has been out to correct several post construction problems. We have watched a custom home under construction, by a different builder, go up down the street. This home construction appears to have some of the same problems we experienced with Anderson Jenkins. I have been told this is «industry wide» as a problem during our construction boom. Though, I do not think it matters when building your dream home. I strongly urge, with any builder you choose, to have everything in writing including: specific response times to communication, penalties to the builder for failing to meet specific delivery dates along the entire building process, penalties for not building the house to plans, and requirements for numbers of days each week a supervisor will be on site.
