We went to Molly’s with high expectations. Nice atmosphere but terrible food. Wife had the meatloaf, i had fish and chips. Obviously both were previously frozen then overcooked to compensate. We were only one of three couples in the place so no excuses like they were slammed. Great server but that only goes so far. Likely won’t return anytime soon.

Atmosphere is great … Really cool building. Had pizza one visit and one of their signature pasta dishes another. Pasta sauce seemed watered down and lacked flavor, the pizza tasted like cardboard and was probably bought in bulk at a place like SAMs club in the frozen food section. Really only giving it three stars because the building and atmosphere is worth a visit but not a repeat venue due to the food quality.

We went here for the first time last night. The waitress was great and the atmosphere was comfy. We had three kids with us and one of them ate free because she was under five. The kids enjoyed their food. My boyfriend and I both ordered $ 12 salads with chicken. They tasted good, but for $ 12 I expect more than a side salad. It came on a regular plate, not even a bowl, and the most abundant salad fixing was onion. Disappointing and overpriced. The $ 4.99 salad in a bag at the grocery store fills me up more than this did. We’re not sure if we’ll try this place again or not, which is unfortunate since we are in town most weekends.

I will change this review upon my next visit as I was very satisfied with the customers service of the waitstaff. And the atmosphere of the place is very nice and rustic like with older features that make it cute but do NOT make it feel like your grandmother’s living room and that is a good thing! Now working in the food industry I want to point out that their menu is very basic. Basic like applebees I know that is not a nice comparison but a few of the dishes tasted prepackaged and the rolls brought to us were far from fresh. It’s always nice to bring guests so bread and butter before the meal but if you are going to use prepackage bread at least heat it up. I asked for more bread upon meeting my party there and the waitress went bent down behind a counter and pulled up rolls already in a basket with a package of butter. Uh. First of all they are cold and insanely hard on the outside. And secondly how long have they been sitting there? Even if they are pre made I kinda expect food to come from the kitchen not below a counter. We also ordered wings for an app and they were good they just came without any dipping sauce or carrots or celery just wings presented nicely on a plate. I felt awkward having to ask for dipping sauce? So then for the Entrée, ok I say this for honesty reasons however their manager was quick on his feet to acknowledge and offer payment for the obvious problem but even so I still need to mention it. I love steak and steaks should be juicy and flavorful especially for $ 26. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and I actually made sure to point out that I would rather have it more on the rare side because lately the steaks I’ve been having at places seem really over done. The steak came out looking like something that had basically been placed in the fire and forgotten. I thought maybe just maybe the inside will be perfect and amazing, so I cut into it already smelling the burning smell. The inside was medium and looked juicy however upon eating it, yuck all I could taste was the burnt charred outside. And the«juiciness» was nothing more than wateryness. Like no rubs used or flavor of any sort not even salt or pepper. I mean even the manager took notice of the black charred blob that was being served on the plate. The manager at the time was very understanding and paid for my meal and a dessert however I changed my order to bacon wrapped meatloaf which was an awesome dish my only suggestion would be to add Italian breadcrumbs to the recipe. But it was delicious. The dessert menu was a cool idea because instead of bringing a menu they brought a sampler tray showcasing their 4 features for tonight. To be honest though nothing looked appetizing or special they were just basic desserts. I was also kinda unsure if I got a new slice of red velvet cake or the same that they had showed me on the tray. Because just like the bread it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while it wasn’t cold like it was refrigerated prior nor was it warm so honestly. I really do feel like this place has potential and maybe I’ll go check it out later this winter however I just was disappointed by the generic food options and lack of creativity. For being a unique cozy lodge type restaurant they need to serve that feeling as well and these general types of food aren’t doing that for me. It just feels like they are trying to cover all the basic popular food choices rather than really making a flavor or style their own.

We love it. Food is great. Service can be slow when you sit outside, but their staff is running around serving picnic tables in the yard, and the kitchen is next door — so can’t ding them for that. Great for kids, but w/top notch food.

Great bison burger, excellent fish and chips, and a magnificent triple chocolate cake for dessert. Add 2 sodas and the bill was only $ 30. It’s in an old post and beam barn, and we just happened to be driving by and it caught our eye. Very friendly and attentive service, too.

Have only had lunch here — very good food, good service and a lovely spot. We’re hoping to make it back on a summer’s evening for some great outdoor dining!

It’s… okay. This place is pretty local to me, so I’ve been here a few times, both in the barn aka«The Tavern» and the main restaurant. The food is fairly overpriced for what it is, honestly. I spent $ 12 on buffalo mac & cheese that I could’ve made at home for ¼ of the price. It’s not terrible, but it’s nothing to write home about either. Drinks are okay. I ordered a couple of cocktails, but they were pretty bitter and lacking in flavor. The location is lovely, in picturesque New Boston, but other than that, I think they need to reassess the quality they aim to deliver, and how much they charge for their menu items.

Always excellent! The one time there was an issue with waiting for food, the bar manager apologized profusely and gave me a $ 20 apology gift card! The food has always been excellent. You’ve got to try the Kahuna Tuna!!! The pizzas are excellent! The beer is excellent! Highly recommend!!!

Love this place so much! I just moved to New Boston and I’ve come here at least five times already. Their mussels are mouthwatering! Pure lemony goodness.

I remember eating at Molly’s years ago with family as a child, and just last night I took my family here. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and informative with specials and the alcohol selection. The menu was very reasonably priced and kids under 4 eat free! The food was delicious, large portions and perfectly cooked prime rib and fish. We were very pleased with our whole experience and we will be returning soon and often!

My girlfriend and her mother both raved about this place but I wasn’t that impressed. They had some sort of seafood ruben that was actually really good(although I only had 1 bite). I had a steak special(new york strip with blue cheese on it, veggies and mash potatoes). My meal wasn’t that great, the meal just didn’t do it for me. I ended up covering it all with black pepper and a little salt to spice it up a bit. I would definitely go back because I think my meal didn’t show me what this place is capable of producing. I will stop by again sometime and update the review after my second go around.

Had dinner there this evening. Ordered the mussel appetizer and it was good, a bit spicy, with some bread for dipping. I would have used a garlic bread but it was tasty nonetheless The steak tip dinner was good and the meat cooked perfectly. Met the owner as he sat at the bar and he was quite friendly. Will definitely be back to give it another try. Update 27 Sep 2014: Ate at the bar/tavern tonight. Wasn’t too busy and we were quickly greeted by the server. The Newcastle was flat, no problem, got another drink We ordered the wings(bayou), calamari, and meatloaf entrée(to split). Asked about the wing sauce, was told it was a spicy mix — great. As it turns out, there was no sauce on the wings, only a dry rub that was almost imperceptible. The calamari had some sauce on it was a bit overcooked & rubbery. The meatloaf was ok, tasted a but like Salisbury steak. The big surprise was the $ 4.00 ‘open entrée’ fee for splitting a meal. We didn’t even receive a second plate nor did the chef separate the meal into two portions. The servers could have warned us there would be charge if we split a meal. We tried to get the server’s attention when the bill arrived to ask about the charge but were not successful. Crummy policy especially considering we spent over $ 60 at the bar. We won’t be back.

Absolutely Beautiful Grounds. Set in a gorgeously restored old barn, this restaurant has a wonderful rustic charm. Our waitress was spectacular. Very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and very accommodating with my pepper allergy. I got lucky and they were just making up the cheese mixture for their homemade mac and cheese and were kind enough to leave some without pepper so I could have it. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and it was delicious! Lots of cheese and flavor. And the lobster was cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Haddock and said it was very good. For desert, we shared a Blueberry Velvet Cake(Made by a local baker) and it was heavenly! Surprisingly light for cake. Very blueberry tasting and a great butter-cream frosting. All in all a spectacular dinner experience. We will definitely go there again the next time we visit New Hampshire. They have a separate building that is their Tavern, but we didn’t go into to it, so I can’t review that portion of the place. They do have an outdoor area for the Tavern that is unbelievably picturesque. They have a beautifully landscaped outdoor area with a pond, gazebo, outdoor seating, a stage(I think they have bands play) and even cornhole set. I highly recommend this place for dinner.

This exceeded my expectations, especially considering my last venture here was when it was the Gravity Tavern. I met some friends at the Tavern on Thursday for the trivia night. With this being New Boston, our expectations were on the level of the bartender reading Trivial Pursuit cards for fun. Actually, they run a pretty decent trivia! The food was a lot better than what I remember from the Gravity Tavern, which had struck me as microwaved snacks from your grocer’s freezer. While not perfect, we thought everything was pretty good. The wings were flavorful, but a little sparse on the meat. The nachos were good, but a little oily near the bottom. And the fried pickles were just outstanding. This seems like the kind of place that would feature a few local brews, but unfortunately not the case. Outside of a Henniker porter, just your standard chain selections. They really ought to work on that.

Four friends very much enjoyed a very delicious meal with great service and well priced! We also had the privilege to hear the music of bill Winn, outstanding! Not only is bill a crafted musician but an outstanding baseball player who excels with grace at all positions but most notably at the plate! A major contributor to the 18 – 0 undefeated season!

After bragging about the gravity lounge, i finally brought a friend to the tavern last week. I told my friend the Cajun wings were stuff dreams were made of… little did I know they weren’t open for lunch that day. :-( Not wanting to waste the trip out, I asked permission to walk over the grounds and show my friend the lounge; Dennis was kind enough to ensure we got our wings(and something to wash them down with). We ended up with a private lunch and a lovely afternoon. Many thanks to Lou, Emily and Dennis for their hospitality.

Molly’s is local to us, so if we are feeling like a night out, we tend to gravitate here. That said, it’s for very good reasons. First off, they are under new ownership as of about a year ago now. It was«The Molly Stark» for a while, then«Kiki’s», and now it’s «Molly’s». The girlfriend and I visited right after they had changed hands and were slightly off put. I had ordered Mahi Mahi Tacos and she ordered the Sukiyaki Shrimp dish. My tacos were«eh» and her shrimp were slightly rubbery and overcooked. Granted, it was a new place, and I am pretty sure we were there on day 5 or 6. So we gave them a pass on that visit. And I am glad we did. We revisited back in November while my parents were in town. Didn’t feel like cooking and figured that(worst case scenario) we could just get a little boozed up and eat appetizers. This time, the food did not disappoint. Drinks were made quick, service was prompt and friendly, and the food was great. No really, it was like an entirely different kitchen the second time around. The mussels app(and dinner) are both wonderful, and I tend to have a hard time not ordering them when I go, the great thing being they do them as an app AND a dinner(over pasta). Lobster Mac and Cheese is also a go to, with the sauce being flavorful and just the right amount of lobster meat in there(Note to the other reviewer, yea, it wasn’t all lobster meat with a drab of pasta… but thats why its«Lobster Mac n Cheese» and not«Mac and Cheese Lobster».) Side Note: If you decide to order food for pick up, show up a few minutes early and have a beer in the bar upstairs. It’s a cool spot with good folks. And the tavern next door has live music on weekends. So yea, this is our go to local spot. Definitely give this place a look if you are passing through.

The menu here is unique, and I’m still not sure whether this is a good thing. Three of the(what, 10?) main entrees are mac ‘n’ cheese — but don’t waste your time on the lobster, because you’ll probably miss the small amount of lobster you’ll actually get in your bowl. Jambalaya and spicy fish are also on the menu, which are pretty decent, albeit unexpected in New Boston. The restaurant is a charming wooden barn, and the wait staff is attentive and polite. It’s pretty quiet, even on a weekend night, but again that makes it perfect for bringing in a group or customizing your order without feeling bad. The drawback: since it’s a new and quiet restaurant, they might not have half the ingredients or entrees you wanted.
