This is, without question, the best ice cream I have ever had. I don’t remember the name of the flavor I got — something chocolate with gooey caramel swirls in it — but it was so good that when I was done, I got another cone to go. I’m from California, was visiting Michigan for the weekend, and didn’t know when I’d be back. I needed two waffle cones full of this deliciousness to savor the memory later. The staff is so friendly too and happy to make recommendations. Absolutely worth the drive.

Great ice cream and a friendly & patient staff. The interior is old fashioned ice cream shop, which is very comfortable and welcoming. Also, there are benches outside under some shade trees that’s a great place to enjoy your sweet treats.

Had the chance to meet Mrs. Gibbs, the owner. Very nice lady. The ice cream was made by Guernsey and very good. The waffle cones were fresh and thicker than most, very substantial. Give this quaint, old-​fashioned place a try.

The waffle cones are AWESOME, and the ice cream is very good. I went pretty basic: chocolate and cookie dough. My wife got Scooby Doo. Neither of us were disappointed. The store is fun and full of interesting signs/​antiques. Lots of personality. Totally hit the spot.
The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because one of the girls scooping our ice cream used her bare fingers to remove the ice cream from the scoop. Not too cool. I might have said something myself, but didn’t feel like it at the time. I think she may have been training.

This is my Grandmothers ice cream shop! She is 81 years old and loves her job and loves the smiles her shop and the ice cream put on her customers faces. I worked for her one summer and her passion is making each order of ice cream look and taste amazing! Go check her out, you won’t regret it!

Old-​fashioned family-​owned ice cream shoppe on the mighty Huron River. The waffle cones are fresh and the scoops are always generous. Stop by before sunset in July and walk down to the river.
