My husband and I stayed here for a night since his Marine Corps Ball was in New Bern. The innkeepers let us stay in one of their bigger rooms upstairs than we had originally booked so we would have more space to get ready for the ball, for no additional charge! Everything about this bed and breakfast is absolutely amazing! From how comfortable the beds are, the homey feel the atmosphere of the historic home and innkeepers bring, and THE best breakfast I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to stay again and my husband and I have already made plans to stay again in the near future!

Spend a long weekend here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and as part of our 25th anniversary year. We had a great room, the staff was wonderful and the Innkeepers Marty and Michael were amazing hosts. They took us on a boat tour and a drive thru town. Love New Bern.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while he had some business to attend in New Bern. We stayed in the Carolina Room on the first floor — it is flled with beautiful antiques and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced! Marty and Michael are perfect hosts, and the breakfasts are scrumptious! Will definitely stay here again!

First time in New Bern and my wife and I decided to stay here. We made the right choice. The house and rooms were beautiful and Michael and Marry were wonderful. They made us feel very comfortable and took care of anything we needed. We joined the other guests for social hour with wine and snack. They have all of the menus from the local restaurants and once we found one we liked they made reservations for us. After dinner we called it an early night and went to bed, which was really comfortable although watch out if your short because the beds sit really high. The next morning we got up and had breakfast which was nothing short of phenomenal. Breakfast was between 8 – 9 and you can order from their menu. The day before we noticed Michael has an old Ford model A. We talked to him about it and ended up going on a 45 minute tour of the area with him in it. Also their little dog Banjo joined us who is awesome. Michael was extremely knowledgeable of the area and homes and the tour was well worth the $ 30($ 15 per person). We will definitely be staying here next time we are in town.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Aerie, and we rate it at or near the top of our favorite B&B inns of all time. Marty and Michael are the perfect hosts; our only problem was they made it so hard to leave! The 19th Century home itself is gorgeous and appointed to the hilt, sufficiently to drench you in La Belle Époque period ambience with just enough elegance to be delightful, and not so much as to be pretentious. The guests who shared this magical experience with us were also storybook perfect – interesting, gracious, erudite and inspiring. We love to travel because, every now and then, the gods of the road bless us with a mystical, transcendent experience that we remember fondly for the rest of our lives. The Aerie is a place where such moments are not only possible, they are indeed likely for those with eager hearts and adventure in their souls. Just be prepared to fall in love and let it happen!

I haven’t stayed much in Bed and Breakfasts. But this is a delight. Marty and Michael make you feel at home — and the rooms are quiet and beautiful. My girlfriend and her daughter just stayed there, and they have a new pooch named Banjo. We really enjoyed our stay!
