The only place to get a decent bagel! Their potato salad is outta this world. Do try a cookie &/​or cinnamon bun. Breakfast/​lunch only. Parking can be tight. They make decent bread too. I only wish they had a better tasting veggie cream cheese.

Do not miss this place. Locals love it as well as out of towners.
Best bagels south of NY

This is an awesome establishment for New Bern, and outside. Some of the BEST bagels I’ve had and I lived in NYC! Great sandwiches, Mediterranean grilled cheese is awesome, the Craotan is too, and the Dill Chicken salad is yummy! The baked goods behind the counter, are nasty, just like the sidewalk kiosks in NYC. No flavor, and all sweet! Stick to the bagels, I love the everything toasted with butter or cream cheese, the blueberry, toasted with butter or cream cheese, and the oat bran toasted with honey butter!

1– serve brunch all day Saturday, especially if they are closed Sunday!

To-​go is the best way to get your food and not have to wait a while for a table. The clientele is definitely of the ‘blue-​rinse’ & ‘snow-​bird’ variety, lol, you bring a cute baby in there and you have to make the rounds to all the grandmas. Otherwise, this place is ALWAYS busy & bagelicious!

This place is the absolute best! My fiancé and I come every Saturday for breakfast. Food and service are incredible. Breakfast is always piping hot and delicious! For a bagel place, they have the best pancakes around!

I have been here so many times and never been disappointed. The bagels are reasonably priced and delicious. They give you enough cream cheese for three people. If you are coming with someone who doesn’t like bagels, there are plenty of other options for both breakfast and lunch. I recommend the strawberry bagel with plain cream cheese though :)

This place is an absolute gem amongst a town filled with incredible places to have breakfast. A huge selection of fresh bagels covering old favorites like cinnamon raisin and onion to future classics like strawberry and jalapeño. A super friendly and attentive staff rounds out the experience. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous or perhaps aren’t a huge fan of breakfast, they offer sandwiches with juicy lunch meat and veggies. Try a Black Forest ham with an everything bagel for the bun for a flavor explosion. They even have a few vegetarian options. This place is number one in bagel fun.

This is my spot. I miss you CB and everyone inside. Yes,; I even miss all the grumpy and angry elderly folks who go there every morning for breakfast and then return for lunch. I miss the friendly and kind ones too! I especially miss my favorite servers, and the best one Betty! i have not had a SINGLE bagel since I moved away. Why bother?
My mother, who is from NYC and never likes bagels from anywhere, takes these bagels home with her to L.A. and freezes them! They are that good!

I went to Carolina Bagel company this morning for the first time and I can guarantee it will NOT be my last! I ordered a whole wheat bagel with their «Week Special» pumpkin cream cheese. The amount of cream cheese on the bagel was outrageous and outrageously delicious! The staff is very friendly and while they are working at a very fast pace, they still take the time to make you feel welcome.

So glad to see this home town gem is still going! I remember my friends and I spending hours here chatting it up over a bagel and coffee. I will be sure to stop by on my next visit home to grab one of those awesome blueberry bagels!

I’ve been here several times for lunch. My favorite sandwich is the Mediterranean served on an everything bagel. It arrived piping hot and was absolutely delicious!
I’ve also ordered a brownie to go. Very yummy and big enough to share or take ½ home.

Small, cozy, cute. Ok coffee, great bagels, decent lunch. The food (aside from the bagels) is not great but not bad. Have been a few times and still would prefer just a bagel over any other item on their menu.

I am a native to NB but havent lived here in 10 years. In planning a recent visit I requested lunch here. JUST AS GOOD NOW AS IT WAS THEN! The bagels are delish and I am contemplating taking some back with me. Fortunately we arrived at 11:30 and easily procured a table. Otherwise you’ll be standing at the door waiting and staring at people eating the food you came to get.

Best Bagels outside of NYC. Love the breakfast and lunch specials. The staff is very nice and pleasant. Yummy meatloaf when on special. The ruben out of this world. They have many flavored butters and cream cheese. Closed on Sunday

Getting a great bagel anywhere in the US is not always easy. Your best option is generally a chain like Einstein or Bruger’s and they’re decent at best. So to find a bagel shop in Eastern North Carolina that sells New York City caliber bagels was a great shock to me!
Take a walk down the side hallway at the restaurant and you’ll see the entire kitchen operation through a big plate glass window. Here you can see the bagels are made the way they’re supposed to be: scratch made dough, boiled and then baked. Boiled is the key component many bagels shops miss by Carolina Bagel Co. hits the nail on the head.
If you’re just in the mood for a plain bagel then this is your place. But their café is also pretty great. I prefer their sandwiches on bagels (obviously) as the bread they serve their sandwiches on is out of a bag and not quite as good. I recently enjoyed the Hatteras sandwich, corned beef, pastrami and coleslaw, and it was absolutely outstanding.
The only downside is they’re not open on Sundays. They obviously do a solid lunch crowd during the week and therefore can stand not to be open 7 days a week but what day do I really always want bagels? Sunday! It’s OK though because I’m just happy they’re here in New Bern for visitors and residents to enjoy!

First of all, I want to explain that while the food is good, the prices for a sandwhich are OUTRAGEOUS!!! If you order a sandwhich, a side, and a drink, plan on plunking down $ 10.
Food is fresh and the place is always packed at lunch, but they are pumping it out and are pretty friendly given how busy they are. Clientel is old old old.

Best bagels in New Bern. Taste similar to NY bagels. We eat lunch here every time we visit and take bagels home. Casual dining and good food. Would have given them 5 stars but they need to expand so they can service more customers. You can wait on line for at least 20 minutes just to sit down during lunch time.

Great sandwiches made with bagels. How great? I generally order a club sandwich when I go to a new sandwich place. The club on a garlic bagel has to be one of my favorite clubs anywhere.
The seating area is fairly tight. We crowded the walkway by needing a highchair.
Great food, good price.

Had lunch with a client and I ordered the Ru-​Bern sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. Probably the very best Ruben I’ve ever had. Good service too rounded this visit to 4 stars!
