Serlingpa Meditation Center

I’ve always wanted to like this place, but I think it’s very expensive to pay $ 10 every time I walk in the door. $ 10 to sit quietly in a room, or do guided meditation, which I can do at home with YouTube for free.

I’m surprised this place had no reviews! This is one of the most peaceful places in such a loud and busy city like New Bedford. You notice the mood change as soon as you step foot inside. There have been a few switch ups on the residential monks/​nuns but every single time I have met a new one, they are all just as nice as well as informative! I started attending when I was only in high school (to learn more about the religion/​lifestyle) and was there every Wednesday for Puja (Buddhist Prayer). Kelang Dorje & Chokyi taught me their traditions and would let me sit there after school and read books from their library. They have a monthly schedule of all workshops, lessons, teachings etc. and offer many classes on meditation, living stress free, and eternal happiness.
With a gift shop as well, don’t forget your wallet! They have beautiful assortments of mala beads, many different books, and other odds and ends! Beautiful place!
