This liquor store is not for the faint of heart. Located in the middle of the famous Weld square, it has some rather shady characters. But it is also known as one of the cheaper liquor stores in the area, and as long as you keep your wits about you, you should be fine. Little tip: If you decide to come here, do yourself a favor. As crazy as this sounds, do a three point turn around on Purchase street, rather than taking a loft next to the car barn. That left just brings you into the truly worst area of New Bedford. Believe me, I’ve made that mistake. And I would also not suggest going into this store by yourself after dark. Even while I was there, someone was asking me for change outside of the store. And that was in the middle of the day!
