Such a great spot, this store has everything other stores dont, in the best way. The best store around the area, for a healthy lifestyle.

I can’t remember if Down to Earth Natural Foods never existed because it feels like it’s been there forever. I buy hard-​to-​find items there and always have a good look around whenever I go there, in case I find something else I was thinking about but forgot to note. Like incense, essential oils, and Preserve toothbrushes. Or if I want to try something new and healthy but don’t want to commit to a large purchase, because I like to support our local shops. They also carry pet food.
During one of my initial visits I was buying toothpaste and the cashier went into this rant about fluoride. I truly was ignoring her while waiting for her to complete my purchase. Well, another worker wasn’t ignoring her and literally pulled her back with kinder words than I’d use. It was funny and sad on so many levels.
In case you’re interested, they’re located on Kempton opposite and between some very good unhealthy restaurants, Grand Wok and Celia’s.

I had been to this store a few times in the past but then forgot it was there.
I recently was in the area and was just driving by.
So I decided to stop in and I’m so glad I did.
The store is GREAT!
The staff is very pleasant and knows their stuff.
The store fits lots of stuff into a small space.

Stopped by here on a whim and I’m glad I did. This store may be small but it literally has everything natural/​organic you can think of – pet supplies, fresh fruit/​veggies, essential oils, supplements, frozen foods, baked goods, toothpaste, and so much more. There’s also a clearance shelf towards the back that has lots of different great stuff at a cheap price. Love this store!

Great little store! This place always seems to have exactly what I’m looking for and tons of things I didn’t even know I needed yet! The staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly. Amazing place for those looking for gluten free, vegan, organic, GMO free, or unique items. They’ve got it all! Cannot say enough good things about this place! Check them out!

I’m happy that New Bedford has a local Health food store where I can buy most of my dairy free food items like better than cream cheese, organic coconut cream and chocolate chip. All the items i purchased was on sale and they are serving free hot apple cider today!

If whole foods made convenient stores, they would look like this.
So much has been placed in every nook and cranny that it is almost overwhelming.
But the staff knows exactly where everything is and what its used for, so dont be afraid to ask.

Down to Earth is a local institution. For over three decades, it’s been supplying the greater New Bedford area with natural and organic foods, supplements, homeopathic remedies, personal care products, and literature. Based on the owner’s interest, they’ve even expanded into holistic pet care, so they now stock many premium, natural pet food brands, supplements, and grooming items. As an animal advocate, she’s a font of information on the subject, which she enjoys discussing. Also noteworthy, the store is the hub of area macrobiotic activity. One of their employees runs the New Beford East-​West Macrobiotic Center, so the store sells many macrobiotic products you cannot find elsewhere, and posted flyers alert shoppers to upcoming macrobiotic classes. If they don’t stock an item you need, they will special order it for you, or if you love a product they stock so much that you want to buy by the case, they will give you a discount. Periodically the store has sales.
