Cove Surf &Turf

We live right up the street and finally tried The Cove after the management change, and we are thankful we did!!! The menu, despite not having a definite cuisine direction is full of anything anyone could wants, which makes it great for our house of many people! I had clam chowder and fried oysters. The chowder was a little thin, and milky tasting, which is why I only left 4 stars. The fried oysters were large and delicious!!! My husband had fish and chips, which also was delicious, and we love beer batter so double win. My mother in law had the baked schrod which looked yummy and she confirmed. The coleslaw left something to be desired. The service was friendly and fast. Some of the best buffalo tenders we have ever had! We liked them so much we ordered 3 orders for the Super Bowl! We will definitely order from here again!

We ordere delivery from the Cove, wanting to try something different for dinner and support the local community. The clam strips were cold, and super chewy and over cooked. The fish and chips were also unappetizing. Will not be going to or ordering from the Cove again but wish them the best of luck.

One of the best places around to get fresh seafood and home cooked food. Award winning stuffed pepper soup is a must have. Great outdoor patio that they close off and heat in the winter for year round fun. They have a beer and wine license and always have great drink specials. Do yourself a favor and visit this great family owned restaurant!

the resturant is surf and turf … traditionaly when i go2 a seafood joint … fried seafood platter everytime … this time … had to throw in an order of chicken fingers to make it surf and turf … the food was gr8 quality and so was the service … but the prices was more catering to padanaram residents … i love how they deliver though… no seafood resturaunts deliver… awesomesauce …nextime i have a few extra dozen dollars i will definately order my fried surf and turf platter from them … xd

Chowder consistency was between thick and thin. Pretty much perfect. Not runny, but not stand a spoon straight up corn starch thick. Flavor was nice and salty almost briny. It was not too rich and overwhelming. Temperature was hot as well which seems silly to review but I can’t tell you how many lukewarm cups of soups I’ve been served in my life.
Fried clams were nice and sweet and tender. Crispy ribbony texture to the fried batter. Pretty unadulterated as it should be. Let’s the clams shine on its own and allow you to season to taste.
Malt vinegar, A1, and Tabasco (not friggen Red Hot) already on the table. Really nice touch.

We visited this restaurant and ate outside at a small table. Service was fine and the meal was good. not great, but good. Atmosphere was small a bit of a crowded feel. Pricing was a little high for the portion, but I didn’t mind because the fish was so fresh.
A week or so later we used their delivery service, (we just live a mile or so from there) the food arrived cold, the breading soggy and the fries limp. I spent 18.95 on the fisherman’s platter which was underwhelming and with soggy battered seafood way piled high with the limpest fries I had ever seen. My husband got 6 or 7 soggy clams piled high with same disappointing fries. Again, the upside, the fish was very fresh?
The moral of the story: the restaurant is OK, but DON’T order their seafood for delivery!

The wife and I love this place she loves the fish and I love the clams and drinks I had the root beer float with alcohol and popsicles with alcohol pretty cool if you never been there you have to go it’s the best

The baked Scrod and Baked seafood combination were cooked perfectly. The home made apple pie was warm and presented with ice cream, whipped cream, and srumdidilyumptous caramel sauce.
The restaurant is clean. Service was friendly and attentive. Portion sizes were as expected.

Great atmosphere! The clam chowder was perfect. I had the fried seafood platter. All items were fresh tasting and the breading did not detract from the flavor. There was live music the night I visited and was a great addition to an already home-​like feel.

Decided to stop by for some clam chowder and fish and chips on the drive home from Nantucket. What a find! Fast and super friendly service, extremely generous serving, and fantastic tasting seafood all around. The fish and chips was fresh and perfectly flaky– my fiancé said it was the best he’s had in years. The clam chowder was really delicious. Between the two it was more food than I could put away, but so glad I tried both!
We sat outside and, between the sea-​spiration wall art and easy 50s tunes, I was transported to a tiki hut on a beach somewhere else. We’ll be making Cove Surf & Turf a staple of our yearly drive up to /​down from Nantucket.

This is a great place for seafood. Good size portions and cooked to perfection at a reasonable price. Don’t expect an upscale eatery, it’s not that, more of a takeout place with a small dining area on the side. The food is great and if your in from out of town and want the best local seafood this is the place to go.
Friday has live entertainment, I don’t know what, and live music while I’m eating is not you me. saturday starting at six is karaōke so that won’t be for everyone. For me it’s all about the food.

The service is top notch. We got delivery and were shorted a chowder that we didnt even relize. While eating we got a knock on the door and it was the delivery guy with the chowder we didnt get. No call or anything. Every1 makes mistakes but they rectified the situation without any prompting. Great fried clams as well.

Stopped by for some clam chowder and a lobster roll and it was as good as it gets. There was so many items on their menu that I wanted to try. Everything was reasonably price, the waitress was very attentive and wonderful. I must praise the cold slaw that came with the lobster roll. I hate cold slaw but I finished every bit of it that came with my meal. I need to come back to try the rest of the menu.

Went back after my big party disaster and tried the buffalo wings. A+++ on boneless buffalo wings, real chicken, not that breaded frozen stuff people throw in a fryer, great buffalo sauce and served with fresh carrots. Nice outdoor seating for the summer and close enough to the ocean for that nice breeze. I will be back for more feasting and glad I went back.

Last night was my first time eating the delicious food from Cove Surf and Turf. We got a large an expensive delivery and I must say, Bravo!!! All the food was correct, had proper dipping sauces, and was hot and delicious. My sister is allergic to seafood and they were even able to ensure her a yummy and safe experience dining with Cove through delivery. The delivery person was accurate and friendly and we were very impressed with our overall experience. Great job Cove Surf and Turf! You shall certainly see us in the future! :)

Cove Surf & Turf is one of New Bedford’s best! The chowder and fish and chips are fabulous! My other favorites are the onion rings and the carne de espeto salad. Plus, the owners and staff are awesome.

I have been to the Cove on several occasions both by myself and with large parties of my children and grandchildren. The food is always great and even the younger, more picky kids could find something to love on the menu. The baked scallops are a favorite for me. The staff is always friendly and gracious and the prices are reasonable. This is now a regular go to place for me and my family.

One of my favorite eating spots. I love the fish and chips with the sweet potato fries. The homemade cole slaw is terrific too! My fiancée loves the baked scallops. The fried clams are good too! When they have prime rib be sure to order it. Not always on the menu but its tender and tasty. I get the princess cut and its plenty big enough for me. I’ve never had a bad meal yet and I go at least once a week.
