Excellent lunch today! Huge oysters, phenomenal chicken sandwich with avocado. My son loves their French fry/chip hybrid. The view of anchor bay is another plus. Definitely coming back!

Bars and waitstaff are very friendly and attentive. Something that most restaurants lack these days. The last time we want we just had appetizers and he time before that just drinks ona. Sunday afternoon after the farmers market down the street. The Bloody Mary bar looked pretty impressive set up near the bar.

Good sandwich, Royal Roast Beef. My family loved their burgers. Service is getting better but has room to improve. Nice to have a decent place close to home.

The food is excellent. I had dinner with a group of 5 and we all walked out saying the food was delicious. I had the chicken pot pie it was the best chicken pot pie I have ever had, not too heavy & the perfect mix of ingredients but be prepared to take some home because it is huge!

The food was very good and the service was also very good and attentive. I had the grilled chicken and it was very good. The price is around 12 to 20 dollars a plate. I would recommend Fin’s.

We’ve been here three times, once when they first opened and needed a little help and twice after they re-opened. The second and third times were definitely better than the first, but I was still waiting for friendly local service. There was a lot of clicks of people and waitresses, and since we weren’t part of that our service was ok but not stellar. We were seated by the door downstairs once and upstairs another time, both times I was very cold and ate with my coat on. The feel of this place is very much a bar instead of a restaurant. So, if that’s what you are looking for, you’d do well to grab a pitcher and give a holler to your favorite waitress!

Had been here before the new owners and gave it a second chance and the menu is a definite improvement. I ordered the ribs and they were the best I have had in years they are fall off the bone as advertised.

We are very happy to have found this place, friendly waitress, nice atmosphere, VERY good food. We stopped in for lunch, and my husband says we need to go back for dinner some time to try more items. The baked brie appetizer was so pretty, hubby made me take a picture! He had escargot, and we both had burgers. All very good!

Really nice improvement with new ownership. We’ll be back. Nice menu, nice beer selection, engaged ownership, good service. Ribs: Oxford Inn ribs: as advertised. Really good. My son and I split a crock of the French Onion Soup and a full slab of ribs. The soup was perhaps a little on the salty side, ribs were fantastic.

NEWOWNERS! and its WAY better. My family and I decided to give the new Fin’s a try since it’s close by and we like to support our local restaurants. Let’s just say we go about once a week now. The food and service is excellent. Love the spinach artichoke dip, the soups are always homemade, the detroit burger is awesome, ribs are super tender, chicken pot pie is great, pastas are good, my dad had the scallops on special one night and he almost licked his plate clean! The waitress are super nice and friendly. We love the new owners at Fin’s, keep up the good work :)

The owners and staff were the very best and most friendly people I have ever run into. This was my first visit to this fine establishment. We sat at the bar and had drinks plus dessert. We did not have dinner but it looked and smelled great. Everyone there was enjoying themselves as much as us. We will be going back for dinner real soon. Thanks Bob for a great evening!

We went via boat to the public docks. It was perfect! Party of 7, everyone enjoyed their food and drinks! Very cute inside and fun atmosphere. Try the flight of margaritas! Only $ 9, 4 separate 6 oz glasses! Yum! We’ll definitely be back soon.

So, after quite some time, and after hearing they have a new chef, my younger son and I decided to re try. I REALLYREALLY want a decent sit down in town, near the house. Our prior experience was after they had been opened a few weeks. My older son and I visited. Long story short, we left after an hour and a half, having not eaten. My son wrote a Unilocal review which was removed as it may have been too detailed. Suffice it to say, t had to be one of the single worse restaurant experiences I have ever had. So, after the passage of time, and because my younger son was back from college and wanted to try(oldest said he would never step foot again), we stopped for dinner. Son said the bread at the table was very good, a crusty Italian bread. Served with olive oil, Parmesan, and pepper… nice start.(I’m on a no wheat try, so had to pass). He also had a half pound burger with avocado, a side salad and the burger came with seasoned fries. While slightly over done, he indicated the burger was very good. I had the evening special, sirloin steak with a zip sauce. Again, slightly over done, but the steak was good. Zip sauce tends to be a bit salty, so this did not disappoint. I had double vegetables and no starch. I love vegetables, and their veggies are freshly cut and prepared. Asparagus, zucchini, squash, red peppers, really stood out. UNFORTUNATELY, they were lukewarm, at best. What a huge disappointment. Overall, the bill for a burger and the dinner was $ 28(before tax and tip). Given this was sirloin steak, I thought both were a bit over priced. But the serving size was decent. I will say, the meatballs looked GREAT. Maybe a side of those next time? Overall, 3 stars and I have moved my opinion to «I would give it another try».

Thought we would try the upstairs, suprised to find out it was karaōke night. Very loud, and was truly karaōke singers galore. Plus there were people lined up for a road rally which made for an even more crowded experience. Service was good, but we plan to try the main floor next time.

Update :) had family that wanted to try. So we gave it a second try. Was greeted at door by nice hostess who gave us option of sitting. I went a little simpler than last. Great choice! Got the chipotle chicken! Yum yum! We all enjoyed our meals. One got the Mac and cheese burger. He was expecting more cheese in the Mac and cheese bun but it was ok for the special price. Another, shrimp pasta. Good size but over buttered. Last, the fish and fries. He ate it all. However, I asked for no potato but coleslaw and veggies on side. I was given and charged for potato and two sides:( I wasn’t paying so I was told to shrug it off. In summary. Food is good but service is too much in hurry that they don’t always get order correct. I’ll stick with takeout with the wrap:)

Third time’s the charm, I guess… I finally got into Fin’s. I came in at about 5 on a Tuesday evening and they were a little over half capacity up and downstairs. Ordered at the table were the cheesesteak sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs, and salmon burger — which is what I got. Before I dive into that though, the look of this place is great. From what I can tell, they have the original floors to give it a bit of a rustic look, but everything else is updated, and it has a really nice aesthetic. There’s also even an elevator inside for people who need to use it. Before going upstairs, I got a quick look into the bottom floor area and noticed a good amount of seating and a bar. To me, the downstairs area was a little more crammed than upstairs. Up there, there’s another bar, and it looks just as nice as the bottom floor. There are eight beer taps, at least half of which seemed to be(from what I could see) craft beers. It’s not a large bar area, but it probably seats about ten to twelve and looks really nice. Alright, the food. First, I’m a bit confused… do they have two kitchens at Fin’s? It would appear that way, unless there’s a second stairwell in the back of the place. Anyway, it took about twenty minutes to get our main courses after getting our salad/soup/etc. The salad is what it is. It’s right out of a bag, and has some iceburg lettuce, red romaine, and carrots. What’s really good about the salad though is the bleu cheese dressing. Honestly, the best I’ve had anywhere. Clearly homemade, and it tastes great. I put my bread in it. The beef stew was passable — fine and dandy, but nothing stood out about it. The beef was nice and tender though, and the best part about it was that it wasn’t too salty, which seems to be a constant problem for a lot of places. The salmon burger… really good. I’d complain that there is just too much dill and arugala on the sandwich, but too much is better than enough in this situation, because you can take it off if you’d like. The spread that’s on it is also really nice. The fish was cooked very well, was juicy, and not overly salted. Additionally, the bun they used was great. The fries were a bit limp and about room temperature, but they had a nice flavor, and it appears that they’re hand cut as well. The spaghetti and meatballs has one big problem — the whole dinner plate only had two half dollar sized meatballs on it, which I find pretty unacceptable. As for the sauce, I enjoyed it a lot. It was nice and tangy with only a little bit of sweetness. Basically the ideal spaghetti sauce. The meatballs were pretty tasty, but nothing to brag about. A pretty simple, but well executed plate of spaghetti, it just needs at least a couple more meatballs on the plate. The cheesesteak is one of the better renditions I’ve had in Michigan. It’s certainly not an authentic Philly, but the meat they use is tasty, well seasoned, and piled on fairly for the price you pay. It’s also served with a side of really good, certainly house made horseradish sauce. Another winner. Overall, I really like Fin’s. It’ll take another visit or two before I bump it up to five to make sure my visit wasn’t a fluke, but this was a good first impression… if I exclude the two visits I made when I couldn’t get in. Blows Camille’s By the Bay out of the water in every way: the food tastes much better for a bit of a lower price, the building’s aesthetic is far superior, and there’s a better selection of beer.(That’s always a plus in my book!) They don’t do anything«out of the box»(although I wish they would consider it), but they do have well made food in a good location and a great looking building. If this visit was any indication, I expect Fin’s to be a staple in downtown New Baltimore.
