I only wish I would. have taken a picture of last nights fare at Tumbleweed. I ordered«potato skins» I am still hoping not to see them again as my stomach is still struggling now at 6 am. I was served a large plate of sliced potato. If I were to guess I would say left over baked potato that didnt sell earlier in the evening. The slices were burnt somehow and then beautifully topped with cheese bacon fresh lettuce and sour cream. I ate one was disturbed by the texture and burnt taste while not black they were a brown you don’t expect to see potato. I ate some of the toppings and called it a day. They did take it off of my bill my only complaint this morning is that I have felt sick all night. Never again

Back when I lived here in the area in the 70’s and 80’s, this chain and Chi-chi’s were the go-to places for tex-mex. Happily, there are many more choices today but in arriving in town after 2 days of driving, something told me to try out this location close to where I’m staying. It probably was the draw of margharita’s! We were quickly seated and met our server, Martin. He was prompt and courteous. He brought our drinks fairly in short order, then returned to make our tableside guacamole. One thing that impressed me was the level of service he gave doing this. He asked if there were any of the ingredients on the table we thought we wanted to omit and I liked that. He also asked if we liked our guac more solid or thin and waterly. That he offered choices was very thorough in my book. I have to say that the service we got from him was truly exceptional. Surprisingly, all four of us ordered the same 3 Enchilada dinner. None of the ingredients in them, chicken, beef and cheese, stuck out in my mind bu I could tell which was beef because it had ground beef and not shredded. That, I believe needs a step up. The cheese-filled one was too funny and ran when cut and I can’t recall tasting the chicken in that one but I knew it was there. The refried beans were basic and there isn’t much you can do to make them better unless sofrito is added and you only usually find that at your own home. The rice, I’m not sure what to do with that. It looks liked Uncle Ben’s instead of spanish or mexican rice. Clearly it was the worst thing we had. Spanish or mexican rice is easy and all you need are onions, tumeric, garlic, rice, water and chicken stock. Maybe tomatoes if you like that added. But Uncle Ben’s is always a no-no. In all, if you want to go someplace casual to experience food you don’t want to make you sick or are afraid to venture into real mexican, go on and go here. But be sure your expectations are very high and you won’t be disappointed.

Tasty but sometimes the service can be spotty. A good, cheap place for lunch, especially when you go a little outside the«normal» lunch hours when it’s less busy.
