Sexy Beast has few vices. He’s not a drinker and he’s never been willing to relinquish control of his faculties to other substances. He’s the sort of guy you want standing behind you when faced with violence or the fallout of bad choices. He’s big, burly, gruff, and manly. He does like to partake of a fine cigar now and again. And by fine, I mean something that’s akin to setting a couple of twenty dollar bills on fire. His taste is particular and limited to a select few sticks. Finding those sticks is damn near impossible, especially at those swanky joints that cater to young dudes who want to be old dudes but lack the patience and finesse to get there properly. Kaiser’s is the sort of place that’s built just for old dudes. The fellow who runs this joint is an old dude. We popped in after a particularly disappointing visit to another establishment hoping against hope to find a stick or two that Sexy Beast would deem acceptable. Those other guys didn’t even know what he was talking about. Kaiser’s knew. Kaiser’s even had some stashed in the back under some younger, less distinguished sticks. A deal was made and those distinguished sticks are now in our humidor.

Kaisers is a tobacco shop that has been family owned for six generations. Previous generations used to roll cigars in the back of the store but that tradition has passed. This hasn’t stopped Kaisers from carrying a wide variety of cigarettes(which I don’t smoke) including«craft» cigarettes… I should have known such a thing existed but I didn’t. Their walk in humidor is well stocked with many varieties of cigars but unfortunately it is missing the CAO smokes I love. The humidor is well maintained and I’ve yet to get a bad stick from them. If you’re in the area, or need a smoke, stick your head in. The building is a classic and a pretty cool piece of local history.
