Grant Line Nursery & Garden Center

My wife has bought from them each spring for over 20 years. Yesterday I went by to buy a small amount of grass seeds for a 4×4 area where I just buried my dog. I ask if I could go in the back and grab 2 – 3 handfuls of trash straw that would be on the floor that would normally be swept up and tossed. They say no. They didn’t have any free stuff and I could buy a half a bale. I told my wife about what happened so she is shopping elsewhere.

Over the past 11 years I’ve now used Grant Line Nursery to do nine different yard landscaping jobs in Floyds Knobs. After the damage from the wind storm that was a result of hurricane Ike a number of years ago I had to redo 90% percent of my backyard. This was a major under taking and Grant Line Nursery went above and beyond when it came to designing my new yard, making certain that they didn’t damage my current yard and following up with me months down the road to ensure my new trees and plantings were doing well.
So Grant Line Nursery has done large jobs for me and some that weren’t so large, each time I have received great service and attention. Yes, I’m one of those people that feel your lawn represents you, (I’m anal about my entire yard) and I now have a yard that’s been upgraded beyond anything that I could have ever done on my own.
My most recent landscaping job in 2014 was to protect my yard from my neighbor who has wild bermuda grass. Again the good people at Grant Line offered excellent advice to prevent this from entering my yard and at the same time it was an upgrade to my current lawn. I will say that Grant Line backs up their plantings with a solid warranty plan and I’ve also purchased many supporting products or additional plants that have always done very well.
Also, you should really consider joining their Rewards Card program for great savings. In the 11 years of dealings with Grant Line I have zero complaints… how often can any of us say that about a firm.

I stopped by Grant Line Nursery after being unable to find a specific herb plant at three other nurseries and garden centers. Grant Line Nursery had not only had the plant, but the staff also took the time to talk with me about the proper care of my plant (pot size, amount of sunlight, how often to water, etc). I purchased potting soil and a large pot in addition to the plant and the prices seemed very reasonable. This will be my first stop for all of my gardening needs from now on.

Grant Line Nursery has a nice selection of all types of plants and is conveniently located. They have a very attractive layout.
I was unimpressed with the service, however. Although it was a slow day for buisness, neither I nor my wife were ever asked if we needed any type of help, despite passing by no less than three employees. The prices also seemed relatively high; not relatively high compared to Lowe’s, relatively high compared to the other independent nurseries in the area that we’ve visited.
It is a shame that I can’t recommend this business as it would be much more convenient than where we normally shop for landscaping and plants.
