We are surprised at the bad reviews. We didn’t know the owner’ name, but from other reviews, he must be James. We had a very good talk about guitars. My husband did not plan to buy a guitar because it was not in our budget but James gave us a deal because we «connected». It is an excellent guitar that Keith is still playing, in fact, while I’m writing this review. He’ll be playing this guitar at our neighbor’s daughters wedding (can’t wait, have been listening to the same five songs on an hourly basis for the past five months!) Plus a friend of his has been hounding him to sell the guitar to him. So thank you James!

Walked in and didn’t receive a greeting. The owner (I’m assuming) continued a lesson without even looking up. We turned around and walked out. One of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

I took classical guitar lessons from Jamey at Empire Music for 3 years before moving to the bay area. He’s fantastic, knows his stuff, and is an excellent teacher. He also occasionally gets some really cool vintage gear in there that’s fun to check out. His shop is humble, but great. Highly recommended.
