Maurizios Pizzeria & Italian Grill

I have ordered from here a few times and the food is mediocre. Pizza is overwhelming with toppings and it falls apart every time I’ve ordered it. Also sometimes it’s undercooked leaving it dripping water from the toppings. They seem like good people, very friendly but would not recommend.

Ordered takeout from here recently, a specialty pizza. Delivery took a little longer than estimated, about 50 minutes, thought it was a Friday evening. The pizza was pretty good but not super hot.

Hands down offers the widest selection of pizza-​by-​the-​slice on a daily basis and every single one is absolutely delicious. The «grandma» is to die for and I highly recommend it. The entrees are just as delicious — Cannot pick only one as my favorite. Most importantly, the owners are wonderful people who provide service with a smile to complement the tasty fare. Most definitely one of the best places to eat in Neptune. You will not be disappointed here.
P. s. The owners are very community-​focused and do the best to support Neptune’s students and residents. Cannot commend them enough. They are *good* people.

Ordered delivery from here through Unilocal via Eat24 and was really pleased with the delivery service! My food arrived in less than the estimated 45 minutes. There is a $ 10 minimum order + $ 1.50 delivery fee, which was totally worth not getting out of my pajamas. It is not difficult to make the $ 10 minimum, as prices for main dishes start around $ 9 and go up to $ 30. This seemed a little steep to me, but the portions are huge, so it is a decent value.
I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, which was OK. The meatballs are very, very soft and a little bit dry, while the pasta sauce is a little watery and the noodles a little wet. It wasn’t terrible, but also not great.
Main courses come with bread and a side salad, for which there is a drop down menu for dressings. I asked for caesar but got balsamic vinegar instead, which again, wasn’t terrible, but not really what I wanted.
Tl;dr: Convenient and will feed me for several meals, but not going to be my go-​to pasta place any time soon

Pizza is always good here if you sit in. Lots of choices of slices and other goodies. I’m a fan of the veggie. Slices as big as your head. Had delivery twice was cold and not the same. Stop by get pizza and hit the shop rite. My company just had a party here and they did a GREAT job.

After a long day of business travel, this restaurant came recommended by the hotel as one of their 2 (out of 10 or so) top delivery spots. I decided to chance it and order a few things from them while I worked from the hotel. Almost two hours after I ordered, I was presented with mediocre food, lacking flavor, that was completely chilled and unappetizing.
I would not recommend this place unless you went directly to the source and probably stuck with pizza or a slice there.

She you first walk in, you feel as if you were transported out of the lack luster shopping plaza into a Italian hidden gem. The food counter is jam packed with Italian food options. The pizzas are enormous– as is there selection. They have paninis, stuffed mushrooms and rice balls as well as other Italian options.
The food is consistently adequate. I have come here many times for lunch, and have never had anything better than «okay». It isn’t bad by any means, but sometimes, the food looks a lot more impressive than it tastes.
To be completely fair, I have never tried any of their dinner items — I have only attended here for lunch. I’ve had numerous varieties of their pizza, rices balls, and stuffed mushrooms. It is obviously good enough for me to have come back, but it is not my first choice. It is good for a quick lunch run and if you want a decent slice of pizza.

The food is good, I go for lunch sometimes,. but they charge different prices every time. It should be consistent.

We were visiting in town and decided to try this hole in the wall pizza spot.
The food was very delicious and served hot. The ambiance was wonderful. We would come back here again!

I tried this place last night, it was really good. I ordered their stuffed mushrooms. the only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because there was paper in the stuffed mushroom. unknowly, I ate it. I brought it to there attention and the guy with the dirty blonde hair just shrugged his shoulders and said «he didn’t know» and turned around.
one other thing, I noticed they touch the food with their bare hands. other than that, the food itself tasted really good. the sauce tasted homemade and really fresh. I’ll give it one more try before I head out of town.

Hands down best pizza in the area. Do yourself a favor and order the grandma pie. Their dinners and salads are great too. Best bet is to eat in or order to pickup as delivery tines are usually 45 mins ti an hour.

I’ve ordered here a few times and most of the time it’s been pretty good. This last time not so much. I ordered my food for pickup and they told me 55 min. Turns out they misunderstood and thought it was for delivery and my food was ready immediately causing it to be ver cold by the time I got it home. On top of that they only gave me one rice ball when I ordered three. I called up and they nicely said they would drop off the other two. When the delivery driver showed up about 45 min later he had a very bad attitude, could be bc he had a Dallas Cowboys hat on and those chumps just got beat. Anyway, I will def try them again but this time was disappointing at best.

I ordered from this place on a whim because they had online delivery and it was the easiest. I’m so glad I did! The pizza is great and the pasta was so good! I also tried the garlic bred and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. This will be a regular place for me now!

This used to be our go to pizza place, at least once a week but its gone down hill. Maybe its the day we’ve going on (Sunday) but we haven’t seen the owner there in a while and the pizza choices and service have been eh… still some of the better pizza in the area.

I should have known when I was ordering this wasn’t going to be good. Whoever took the order could pronounce Fagioli and didn’t know what I meant when I asked for extra parm cheese. The order was wrong, the chicken Siciliana tasted like a frozen TV dinner. The Fagioli was dish water.
Shame on me; I was too lazy to leave the hotel so I called for quick delivery. I’m such a dumbass. Never again !!

Good place to go to get full! Pizza is yummy, crust is decent, but the best are the creative slices they make! Chicken francese, parm, murphy, meat slices, veggie slices, American inspire slices (buffalo, cheese steak), white slices… if you can order it in a pie, they mostly likely have it by the slice! It’s clean, service is good, and their meals are yummy. They also have an assortment of specialties at the counter… stuff peppers, rice balls (if i remember correctly), stuffed tomatoes, garlic knots.
If you want a filling meal that’s yummy and fast, come here!

Unassuming exterior; it looks like just another pizza place in a strip mall, but it seems to be much higher quality than your average pizza joint.
We got a large pie for the kids, and an asian chicken salad for the wife. Total was about $ 20.
Food was tasty and plentiful, the kids liked the pizza. My wife liked the salad, but she had asked for something on the side (she mentioned it 3x when ordering) but they put it in the salad anyway…
There are not a lot of choices in the area, but Maurizios seems like a good one. I would give it another try if in the area for pizza.

Holy smokes this is might be the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been making the argument for a long time that NJ has better pizza than NY, at least pound for pound. This place only serves to prove my point, giving Denino’s in Matawan a run for best pizza in NJ (and therefore, the world).
The variety alone is amazing, but here it’s not just a gimmick. The varieties are well thought out and delicious, not topped with toppings just for the hell of it. Their twist on a simple margherita slice has fresh pesto and mozzarella along the usual tomatoes and basil. Their chicken bacon ranch was delicious without being too heavy. I could go on and on about all their varieties (we tried six in all) but I think it’s better to give it a try yourself. If you’re even remotely nearby Neptune, take the detour and make a stop at this spot. You won’t be disappointed.
