Clancy’s Tavern

Nice pub atmosphere. Service and hospitality were great. Atmosphere is on the loud side. Lots of tvs around. Had the bar pizza, which was bigger than expected, and quite good. Lots of variety on the menu and beer menu too.

I think this place is a jewel in the rough! Prompt, friendly service good food at a reasonable price. I’d come back!

Love Clancy’s. Fun atmosphere, great bartenders, good food. The chicken Cobb salad is one of the best I’ve had.

Ever notice how everyone who works the front of the house is white? Lol «The Kellys» are a racist group. How can you run a business in Neptune and not hire a single African American. It’s a disgrace. Won’t ever go back after hearing that. Been a patron for years. Also some of your bartenders are full on alchys. Anyone remember Gerard… case and point

Came here for breakfast 9:30, giving that we’re 22 people, reservations were in place. 1 ½ hr later the food started to show up. There’s no one in the restaurant when we came in. Waitresses taking wrong orders, not filling waters or coffee. And lastly the food coming out with angry & condescending tone. Horrible service. AND to add more to the horrible service, we never get to see the manager to say how horrible is the service. Unprofessional.

We waited for our BREAKFAST for over an hour– and took of 30 minutes to serve the entire table. So some people ate while others stared at them, salivating, envious and hungry. They missed about 4 people’s orders all together along with sides of bacon, sausage, toast, etc. Some of the food came out lukewarm.
I got up and walked around to see if the place was busy but there were maybe 4 tables in the main dining room.
The waitresses were not communicative and the «manager» implied that it was our fault that the food took long since we made a reservation on a holiday weekend. If they could not handle a large party and the 4 other tables in the restaurant they should have said so. Clancy’s is good for cheap domestic beer and management/​staff that gives zero shits.

Visited Clancy’s after a trip to the beach. Loved the casual atmosphere, and live band. Food was great and they had oysters and clams on the half shell. The wait staff was great. This is def a go to place after the beach for us from now on so glad we found it!

This is a great place for wings, a burger and drinks. Locals come here during the summer months and winter off season. This bar is located in a strip mall off a main road not far from the beach.
I used to frequent this place more often when I lived in the area. I never had an issue with the service, food or other customers. The customers are locals who get along with each other pretty well. The city types who come down to check out Asbury or Ocean Grove do not really give this place a second look.
Take advantage of that and enjoy all that Clancy’s has to offer.

Gave it another chance but food was still cold and horrible! Forget the wait staff cause they forget about you. Never again! Also filthy and booth we sat on had ripped seats.

Service was horrible… And food was even worse then the service!
The grilled clams that were served to us were the size of chowder clams the seafood plater came out burnt. I left hungry, disappointed and will never go back!

Clancy’s has been a staple for my father and family in general since it opened. Amazing potato soup and generously good food.
Solid sushi, which you wouldn’t expect in an Irish pub!!!
Basically, Clancy’s is that typical restaurant that you go to when you don’t feel like going anywhere pricy or new. It’s usually solid, will never really displease you, but will never actually thrill you.
In an area with a million amazing restaurants, Clancy’s is truly that local place that you don’t know why it’s still open but are very glad it still is.
Even though there are a number of places I’d rather go for better food, I’ll still end up here once a month or so just because.

We always stop at Clancy’s Tavern on the way home from Ocean Grove beach. We discovered this place a couple years ago when we first discovered and loved Ocean Grove. Now we stop here every single time. When we first passed it, we saw it was very crowded and that is always a sign that a place is really good and popular. the handful of times we have been there in the summer it is always packed. It is average on loudness and the seats are kinda tight when you go with a few people. THe food is delicous and they always have specials going on for a cheaper price. I love when they had the $ 2 tacos special last year as I am a big taco fan.
the waitors and waitress are very accomodating and nice. the food is worth every penny even. they have tvs for people to watch as they wait the short wait. u never have to wait for a seat as they are prepared for crowds.
if you are in the area i highly recommend a visit to this tavern!

Unbelievable I get to the bar and before even going inside get harassed by the Neptune Police I have been coming to this place for years without a problem …This has to stop I’m one of the good customers not the problem not the customers that you have later on at night especially on Fridays and Saturdays ie… The non tipping crowd that causes for your staff and other patrons to leave… Smh place is going downhill

Clancy’s is as real as it gets! We frequent Ocean Grove which is a dry town and after a long beach day, we’re ready to get our drink on. Clancy’s is a stone-​throw away from Ocean Grove and walkable.
It’s a traditional Irish tavern, but they have a sushi chef that sets up and makes fresh rolls. They accommodate large groups really well, so you can bring your whole family here. Lots of variety to their menu, I have the palate of a 6yr old and can vouch for their kid’s menu!
I love that this place is so casual; you can roll off your beach towel after a day at the beach and grab a pint and a bite.

This is a great place to watch a game. Good food, lots of variety. From regular bar food to sushi it’s all good. I appreciate a place that has the football Sunday ticket an you can see most of the TVs and so catch all the games.
It’s also nice to have a few tables away from the bar if you want to enjoy dinner away from the bar.
The food is reasonably priced and good portions. They always surprise me with how fast the food is delivered. I’m enjoying the southwest egg rolls now and love they provide sweet and sour dipping sauce along with sour cream. Very good.
I love this place and it’s easy to see why this place is often busy.

This place is clearly run by scumbags. Unauthorized charge of 100 bucks on my card, no call-​backs after trying to contact the manager for 2 weeks now and my inquiries have been completely ignored/​dodged every time I call. Not to mention it’s college dive bar skeevy feel, strip mall location, or the crackheads wandering around outside of it that harass you as soon as you leave. How people gave this place good reviews is beyond me; don’t polish the turd.
