Very good and awesome deal. It was our first time ever having that cuisine and were skeptical because of my two picky eating kids. However, for $ 7 meal deal, each of us got toe meat entrees, rice or noodles(chicken was in noddles), and a drink. WOW, what a deal in NJ. Ahem… back to review of food… DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was good. We each ordered a different meat so we could share and eat family style. Excellent idea too! We had goat, curry chicken, Bbq chicken, pork, and some sweet beef. I can hardly wait to go back to the coast so we can stop by again.

Great food at great prices. Very friendly staff. I don’t know much about Filipino food but everything I tried today was delicious. Chicken BBQ, curry chicken and pork asado.

Really friendly staff. Didn’t love the pancit(kind of soggy and salty), but the curry chicken was very tender and flavorful(be aware — chicken still has bones in it), also got the pork skewer which was tasty, but a little too sweet for my personal taste). I came at thread of the night so they were out of a lot of items. The store is set up like a grocery store in front and then you walk towards the back and get to choose your food from a hot case where you can see what everything looks like. It was pretty cheap — 2 entrée plus rice or noodles & can of soda for around $ 8 when you include tax. Don’t know if I’d come again, but it was good and there was lots of variety

Finally a place in Monmouth County where I can get my fix of pork adobo and rice. It is set up as the typical small grocery with turo turo. So far I have tried the BBQ pork and chicken, pancit bihon, pork adobo, lechon kawali and sinigang with a side of white rice. The prices are extremely reasonable for 2 choices and rice. I think a soda comes with your meal $ 7 to $ 8. My daughter loves the pancit bihon dish with its chicken and veggies. That becomes her entire meal. She doesn’t even ask for fried lumpia, so we have yet to try theirs. I personally would like my pancit with more kick maybe adding fresh ground pepper. Admittedly I keep wishing it tasted like the pancit I get from Sally’s in my hometown in Virginia. The pork adobo is salty and fatty… typical Filipino fare. Take the sauce to season your rice to eat with the tender pork. You can’t eat too much because you will clog your arteries(you don’t want to become a patient across the street at Jersey Shore!) but it is the national dish of the Philippines, so you have to have some adobo. Kamayan’s is good adobo! The pork sinigang was good soup to have especially when it is cold outside and need to warm up your system. Unfortunately I didn’t taste enough sour from calamansi or Filipino limes, so I was craving for my Mom’s version. The lechon I had one weeknight was dry, so I didn’t eat past 2 bites. I will try again because the day I ordered it was near closing time(8PM) and wasn’t really fresh, so I want to give it another chance… perhaps a weekend lunch? My daughter was bummed that they don’t sell sweet rolls ensymada which is really for breakfast not lunch and dinner. I did see that they sell pandesal. Haven’t tried it yet. The best food from their grill… BBQ!!! The BBQ«sticks» kabobs come in pork(traditional) or chicken. Trying to be healthy, I have only eaten the chicken which I believe is boneless thigh. Their BBQ sauce is different from other Filipino(Coca Cola-based) versions I have consumed. Kamayan’s version is delicious!!! Have them warm it for you or put it in a toaster oven when you get home. I would eat sticks of this and Jasmine rice for every meal including breakfast if I could. I bought a whole tray(20 kabobs for $ 40) for my New Year Eve’s party because it is so good. UPDATE: I packed the extra kabobs for my guests to take home. All the non-Filipino guests texted me to say they were fabulous the next day! Their children, who didn’t try them at the party, had them at home the next day and loved the BBQ!!! I will definitely order a tray for every party I host in the future. Try the place out. People there are super nice and will answer your questions and make recommendations. Be adventurous and discover Filipino cuisine.

I couldn’t be happier! I chose the banana rolls, pork spring rolls, chicken empanadas and chicken kabobs. I will definitely be back in a day or two.

I always eat my food too fast here to take a picture. One day I’ll remember! Everything is so good. I’ve been here quite a few times and I always try to get something new. You walk in, read the menu at the counter, order, eat, then pay. The woman behind the counter is great at recommending things, too, so ask, if you’re not sure! This was actually my first time ever eating Filipino food, so when my husband and I showed up for our first taste of Filipino food, we were a little overwhelmed! Told her what we liked and she recommended a few things and they were AMAZING. I had beef steak today and I know I’ve tried the spicy goat, adobo chicken and pork, a chicken curry type dish… I don’t even know. I just order and know it’s going to be phenomenal. I also love the market. In order to get a lot of Asian foods and snacks, we have to do some traveling, so to have this less than 10 minutes from home is great!

Let me start by saying that Kamayan single-handedly inspired me to create a Unilocal account. This family owned and operated joint has a whole range of home-cooked dishes from which to choose – served in around 10 separate chafing dishes like those of Thai street vendors(khao rad kaeng) – 2 meat dishes with rice and a drink for around $ 8, more than generous portions. Tried the goat and pork belly dishes(both in a tangy brown sauce) and was blown away by the flavor. If I were a local, I would definitely stop here at least once a week. The staff/owners are super friendly and willing to help the non-initiated Filipino diner. Filipino flag is hoisted in the window, so the shop is easy to spot. There is plenty of seating inside, though take-away containers are at the ready if that’s your preference. It looked like the family had just finished making steamed rice buns when we arrived. We tried one of the pandan flavored buns, and it was delicious. The shop has shelves stocked with Filipino dry goods too, if you’re looking to cook something of your own or snack on something. Also saw some duck eggs(could it be balut?) Will definitely come here the next time we’re in town. For sure the best food in the Belmar/Neptune City and surrounding area. Hope people recognize this for the amazing place it is.

The food is good, cheap and quick. It is cooked to order as well as take out. I visited this place every day for lunch while visiting family across the street(Jersey Shore University Med., Ctr). It is Filipino cuisine, and has a latino flavor — Spanish influence. If you are Puerto Rican(like MOI !!! — I know its French!), you will love this place. Try the Adobo chicken or the Chicken curry… also the flan dessert. There is no table service, you go to counter, look at menu and food, and simply pick!!! Pay, and sit down and chow… love this place and the food is so good you will leave feeling like Imelda Marcos, but with«Payless» shoes! LOL!

The food here is on point. The adobo is delicious and so is the longanisa and taro leaves. I have yet to try the ube and halo halo here but they look appetizing. Reminds me of my mamas and my Lola’s cooking. They also have Filipino goods here for sale and they’re very inexpensive which is rare. They have a combo with two entrees and a drink for 7 dollars. They give hearty portions and a choice of rice or pansit. Definitely will be back if I’m in the area again :) they’re very friendly as well!
