I placed an order over the phone /online, once I received the boots they were very tight fitting and very uncomfortable, so I immediately called asking for help in regards to there Rocky Alpha Force Water Proof boot. I explained to the person what was going on and how tight it felt despite going an Extra Wide Size. The person I spoke to who gave me the information and can’t remember the name told me to use the boots at work for a day to see if that helps, so I did. It still didn’t help and my feet were in extreme pain, so I felt the size has to be off. My entire foot felt pressure and squeezing into a small size. Online they say true to size, well, I am normally a 13 wide not a 13 extra wide and yet the boot still is tight and feels small. I called back to be told due to wearing the boot, that there isn’t a refund, but I explained what happened and what I was told, so the lady told me to ship them back and an inspection will be done to see if they can be resold. I explained that the boots were only worn once and they look brand new right out of the box still and have 0 scuff marks, 0 dirt on them, and 0 any issues with them despite just being very tight on my foot. I was told there is a chance if the inspection goes wrong they will send me the boots back and won’t refund my card back… I explained to the lady that there is no way I can wear them period and if they had a store where I am from I probably wouldn’t have this issue, because in the store I’d be able to show where the pain is and maybe the person who builds them if there would make better suggestions for me. Yet to be told no refund and pretty much S O L your stuck with a boot that doesn’t fit and hurts your feet. No reason to lie or make false statements about there company, but really why would I go through all this hassle of getting a quality boot that isn’t cheap just to waste my time and effort and card just to send them back… I am normally on my feel all the time and needed a decent pair, so I tried them out. Asked for a supervisor and was told they all left for the evening. I asked for one, because it wasn’t right how fast they took my money out of my account and now when there is a problem with the boot I have to jump through hurdles just to explain as an Officer what I was told by the companies team member and I was told that it can’t be true that someone there would tell me to wear them at work when you need to wear them inside your house for an hour… Well I know what I was told and common sense any person would clearly if asked would deny saying such a thing, because they could get written up or fired… Not saying they don’t have decent boots I am 100% sure they have excellent boots, just they are located outside where I live. Primarily I explained to the sales guy who I first spoke to what was going on and he was the one who made the suggestions plus when I called back told me to try them out for a day. Yet there isn’t any paperwork in the box or receipt stating these comments they make, but again not being rude here, but I was still verbally told and why I don’t recall the name is, because the fact is I trusted the company as I would a fellow Officer, now being told that there is no way this person stated these comments to me just makes me look at this company with distrust and negativity.

I really like my new Rocky shoes purchased on ShoeBuy. Women’s Oxford 911−200−1. They were comfortable from the time I put them on. They looked ugly in the picture, but I decided to try them anyway because I will be trekking all over Greece and Turkey and I need good walking shoes. They are approved by the postal department, so I figured these shoes would be good for walking! I also bought the Rockport World Tour Walking shoes, which were uncomfortable. Even though they are size wide, they crushed my toes. They’re going back. The Rocky shoes are actually much more stylish than the Rockports! The heel and toe are very well designed for style and comfort. Great arch support. I’m breaking them in for miles of walking.

I placed a phone order with this company. I had to call because the size I needed wasn’t showing available. I called specifically because I wanted to make sure I got the right product as it was Christmas gift. Well, the boots came a week before Christmas and wouldn’t you know they were NOT what I ordered. I had to return them. I call to get the right product and they were sold out, ruining my Christmas gift giving. I had to wait until after the new year to re order the correct boots. I was also told I would have to repurchase the correct item and wait for the credit to process on my return, which I was told would take 2 weeks. So… are you following me here? I have paid for boots twice at this point. I returned boot order, it shipped out Dec 16th and it arrived at Rocky boots that week and they REFUSED the shipment, letting it sit in the Fed Ex warehouse for a week(which I found out via fed ex after tracking the package) because it seems they were too«busy» to take shipments. I have called the company on several occasions keep getting a song and dance about when I will receive my $ 125 credit, been referred to management who is not returning my calls or emails. It has been well over a month since I returned the boots and I am still awaiting the credit for the returned boots. Feel free to do business with these idiots if you have money to throw away! My next step is to see about filing a complaint with the BBB. Crooks!

Service was fast and the food was ok, but it was quite the letdown from what I had expected based on previous reviews. I can’t speak to the rest of the store, as I only stopped in to grab lunch on my way through. The fabled bison burger is a frozen patty that they get delivered pre-cooked. I tried to order one medium-rare and they told me it was already cooked. What a huge letdown.

A nice break from a road trip. A REAL nice break. Pretty cool inside, with lots of items to look at, but not just shoes and boots. This place is so big, they even have their own restaurant. A tourist train station out back makes this a great stop for families and such.

I have tried to order items form this store via their website and each time they find a different way to screw up my order. To make things even better their customer support is horrible. They have no product knowledge and you will get a different answer every time you call or chat. Do yourself a favor and don’t purchase anything from these people.

I was in town for the Neilsonville Music festival. This place sounds like an outdoor supplier place, we were camping and needed a tiny propane tank for our stove. Went in and looked around and they had a large amount of outdoor work clothes and boots, plus an oddly tacked on food establishment. I asked an employee at the counter if they had propane tanks or any outdoor equipment. She said they didn’t have propane tanks. Them being an outdoor-like place I thought this was odd, so I asked if there was anywhere else in town that might carry them. She said that the WalMart 15 miles back down the road or Athens would be the only place that would carry them and couldn’t think of any other hardware stores or places in town that might have them. I give this a 1-star because she was either just ignorant, or playing dumb and lying. We went down the street to a local pharmacy. The lady there was really nice and said that they were out of tanks, but that there was a hardware store right off the town square(Savings Hardware), to which she very kindly gave me directions. The hardware store of course had the propane tank. I find it very hard to believe that in a town of barely 5,000 people that you wouldn’t know where the hardware store was and could offer no helpful advice, especially if you’re a halfway stocked outdoor place that is going to need to refer people there frequently. I don’t care what your product is if you can’t be helpful and offer decent customer service. Plus, seriously… you’re an outdoor gear store. There’s a festival in town that has more people attending than the population of your entire city– most of them camping. You’re the closet thing they see… maybe it would be a good time to beef up inventory?

Unlike some other reviewers I have actually visited the store and bought merchandise from it… wow, what a concept for Unilocal! An actual consumer with a review. At one point Rocky Boots actually used to make shoes and boots in Nelsonville, Ohio but as with all other shoe companies in the US except one(Red Wing Shoes) they now make their shoes in other countries. As for the store itself, it is 3 floors, offering discount prices in mainly boots and hunting clothes. The prices can be very good. There is also a «grill» or restaurant on the ground floor but based on the Buffalo Burger I had I can not recommend this part of the establishment. I went mid-morning, and even though they state on the menu that the Bison Burger takes longer to cook, if I had not forgoten my drink at the register the burger would of beaten me to my table. This part made me question the restaurant aspect of this place severely. That said the discount aspect of the boots does make up for the food part.

I didn’t go in the store, nor did I really know what it even sold. Actually, I didn’t even see the front door because I was BLINDED by the ginormous mural of a mountain goat, plastered to the side of the building, trimmed with rocks and the store name«ROCKY». Don’t care for the products, but definitely a cool photo op of us «climbing» on the rocks. What else is there to do in Nelsonville?
