This is my dancing cradle. It all began here, in long lines at the Nelson town hall, back in my 20s when I was uncertain about what was going to happen next in my life (still am)…at least I knew there was a great contra dance to go to on Monday nights.
And there still is. I love coming home to visit my folks because that means I get to dance with my original teachers and dance partners. And hear some great calling and fine music. The energy in this small space is remarkable, the dancers fun and dear to me. Contra dance keeps us all young in mind and body. That is why I keep coming back.
