***THISREVIEWISFORCIVILIANCLOTHES. I have no idea what the quality is like for the uniforms.(patches, name tapes, etc) I haven’t been on Unilocal in a while, but I feel that I should write a quick review for this place, in order to save others from the mediocre quality. I should have known better than to have my clothes hemmed at this place, but it was close to where we live, and it was convenient. We moved here 6 months ago, and I wasn’t in a hurry to find an alterations place. The time came when I had clothes that needed to be hemmed, and, if you live here, you know what i mean when everything just seemed too far of a drive. I took a blind chance and took my two pairs of jeans and a simple top, to be hemmed. The turnaround was decent. I dropped off Monday, and they told me it would be ready for pick up on Saturday. The lady said I could try my clothes on so she could mark them, but I just told her the inseam measurement, and she pinned the top to my desired length. I didn’t need my clothes right away, so I don’t know how flexible they are with items that need to be done ASAP. The prices seemed a bit steep, but I figured that it would be OK; things on base are pretty trustworthy. I picked up my clothes the week after, on Tuesday, around lunch time. Lunch time is usually busy since everyone is on lunch, but the people behind the counter were hustling, attending to everyone. I checked out my clothes(straight and nothing too hideous), and paid. Immediately, I wasn’t too impressed with the way my jeans were hemmed. The stitching was OK, but it looked like something my mom could do on the sewing machine at home. The hem just looked terrible in comparison to what I’m used to(my old tailor would make the hem look like the original manufacturer’s hem). The top was hemmed to my desired length, but once I got home, I noticed that the stitching was crooked in some spots. UGH! If you’re looking to get your civilian clothes altered, take them somewhere else. I think this place is more for the uniforms. The next time I need some clothes hemmed, or taken in, I’m going to make the drive to a decent alterations place.
