Think, quaint old Dr. in a mom and pop business where everything has been the same since the 1950’s. He’s got a shtick that’s cute and funny. All his optometry equipment looks like he’s had exactly the same stuff since 1950. But you really don’t need anything newer. If you only like shiny plastic store fronts and perfectly organized businesses, then this is not for you. If you like a store and an owner with small town charm and character, this is a great place.
Main PLUS — price. I went to a LensCrafters and paid $ 400 for frames and lenses for reading glasses. Then I happened to walk into his shop when I needed new glasses for distance and he said, for $ 80 he could replace the lenses and I could keep my old frames. To me that was a great savings and the perfect solution.

Professional, friendly, cost-​effective optometrist. Been going here for years as have several family and friends. He is a bit old-​school and does several things the same way he did years ago, including not accepting VSP. However, I soon realized VSP has nothing on this guy’s insanely low prices. Bring in a prescription or have an exam done that day if he has time. Quick turn-​around for quality glasses.
The fact that it is a locally-​owned business is another plus.

At the mention that I wanted to get a prescription so I could buy contact lenses online, the owner told me that I and people like me were stealing from him and that the internet was destroying the field of optometry. He said I and all the people at my university were unreliable because we would just get a prescription and then buy contacts online. He said that the last girl who came in asking for a prescription, he wanted to STRANGLE her and slap her. When I told him he was being rude, he said not to call him rude because when someone called him rude last, it really messed him up. For some reason I thought we could come to an agreement, so I let him keep saying these horrible things. Eventually I started crying, and he didn’t acknowledge it. When I pointed to my face, and told him he had to live with the fact that he treated people like this, he said I needed to grow up and be a big girl.
Don’t go here unless you want to be emotionally abused.

Very old fashioned in every way. The big plusses are: kind personalized service by the proprietor, good selection of frames (though not high end), and INCREDIBLY good value. I love Dr. Levitt.
