Tip: Go early in the season! By the end, things get a bit picked over. I worked hard to get the few braeburns that were left(read: climbing into the tree to get the one or two hanging still in the middle, emerging with sticks and leaves in my hair and scratches on my arms), but it was worth it because the braeburns were so amazingly good. It’s smart to try an apple of the kind you’re considering off the tree before picking a bunch of them – some of them that looked good didn’t actually taste that good. The good news is that there are lots of varieties. There’s a sweet little hayride out to the orchard and a small pumpkin patch. We went to one of the special events – the Octoberfest dinner. Overpriced and mediocre food. Stick to the apples :)

Terrible service. Went down to Nebraska City for a girls day. Called the day before to see what the deals were and said we were coming down on a Monday. We wanted to do the wine tasting its 4 wines for $ 6. Drove an hour down and got there, they said they weren’t doing wine tasting, because of the apple workers. When we called no one said that they weren’t holding wine tastings; this is why we called ahead because of the drive we had to take. They didn’t accommodate us. Only asked if she could do anything for us. Not even give us a coupon or something for our inconvenience. She blamed it on one of the younger kid workers for telling us the wrong information, even though it was a older lady that we spoke to on the phone. Don’t go here.

I’ve only been to the farm during the Applejack Festival. i.e. it was busy as hell. Maybe next year we should take a different approach that doesn’t include waiting in excessively long lines and the out of control crowd? Even with all of that, it’s still a good time so imagine how fun it would be with 75% less people… many of the activities here seem to be tailored to family activities but there are still fun things for groups of adults(eating various apple products, apple wine tasting(try the fortified apple pie wine!) and apple-picking. Also there are apparently some nice walking trails and the lodge restaurant — two things we haven’t partaken in yet but hopefully will get to enjoy as well. A nice diversion from Omaha for a weekend afternoon in the fall.

Took three kids there a few Sunday’s ago and had a great time. We were kind of disappointed that the infamous treehouse was actually a set of stairs and a platform. I was thinking an actual treehouse. Beautiful scenery and a great place to get away.

We took our three year old there, and he had a ball! We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. There wasn’t a whole lot of direction or «help» from staff there to serve, but we didn’t care. We will go back if we can.

If I were twelve years old, I would give this place five stars, as there are many«fun and educational» things to do here(small museum exhibits, things to interact w/along the trail, and a big«treehouse»(which is just a tall platform in the middle of the woods)). As an adult, I would say that the nature trails are relaxing to walk on, but it is definitely a «kid/family» themed place.
