Oishii Japanese Sushi & Grill Restaurant

We were looking for a burger joint, but Oishi caught my eye. Started off with the miso soup, then ordered rolls and sushi. All was fantastic. Even the price… 5 rolls, 3 orders of sashimi, 2 miso soup, and 2 drinks for $ 50. The fish tasted as fresh as if it were caught this morning. Hope every visit is as good as this one.

Stopped by the restaurant with my small son. The workers are very kind and friendly. The sushi was amazing. My son even enjoyed it.
Went back a second time and the sushi was again outstanding. Wasn’t a fan of the chicken katsu but the sushi is the best I’ve had in the area so far. Lived in Japan for 9 years and this reminded me of there.

Too expensive for their sushi. Very small rolls, but the presentation is artistic. When i left I was hungry after shelling out 50 bucks for my daughter and I to eat there. I won’t be going back. The waitress/​hostess never bothered to refill our drinks or ask us how we were. She got a measly tip for her measly service.

Flew in on a Iraq get together with the guys. Walked over from the Wine Bar and we had a blast. All the kids working there were so much fun. We were all doing Saki Bombs with the Oishii crew, slamming down sushi, which were nice big portions and having a great time. They gave us free appetizers and desert.
Will definitely go back next time we get together. Give them a chance.

I actually haven’t gone back, but I’m bumping up my score because the owner took the time to contact me on Unilocal in a positive manner. Also, although my review my review was accurate, I could have been more gracious.

Just had a dinner last night here with my girlfriend. Great food and great service. The only Con I can think of is the name of the place. Very hard for me to pronounce.

Visited navarre area with couple of my fds yesterday, stopped in Oishii for a quick lunch. I had salmon bento. My friend had sushi lunch and a three roll special. All came out wonderful. The food quality was excellent. Service was quick. Loved the staff there. Would definitely come back and recommend to friend. Also great value on the lunch special:)

I was scared to try sushi, but I’m so glad that I did come to this place, this has become a favorite place of my husband and i. We place order of vocano roll and Navarre beach roll and some sushi. Always fresh and good. Best one I get in Navarre.

The sushi was good, yet pricey for what you got. We also ordered the spring rolls, it was 4 bucks and you only got two tiny rolls! Our drinks stayed empty practically the whole time we were there. The servers didn’t even know what sushi roll was which. Overall, good food, terrible service.

I had the hibachi steak. It was obviously soaked in an MSG based tenderizer before being cooked since it was tender but dry as heck. Because it was basically like eating flavored and softened wood pulp, I did not get maximal enjoyment from it. The steamed veggies and sauce that came with it were OK… a little limp, but the steak was a huge disappointment. I tried the yellowtail with scallions sushi as an appetizer. It was constructed nicely and had a good amount of fish, but it was a tad fishy. Not inedible, not the greatest. Just OK. Service was good. I left the restaurant with my head spinning and my sinuses and throat quickly filling up with mucous as is my personal response to MSG. It took over an hour for that to go away. They may deny using it but the sinuses don’t lie, and there is no way meat that is supposedly cooked medium but is gray throughout and yet somehow soft wasn’t tenderized.

My wife and I are new to the Navarre area and we get to go out and try the restaurants we haven’t tried before. Last night, we went to Oishii Japanese Restaurant. We are not sushi eaters, so we went straight to the hibachi menu.
Oishii doesn’t have the live hibachi where you sit around the grill while the chef puts on a show, but that was the only downside. Our server was Brittany and she was awesome! We were seated right away and the food came quickly. Once it arrived, we couldn’t stop raving about it. My wife and I both had hibachi steak; she paired hers with chicken and I had shrimp and scallops with mine. The food was fresh and it was delicious. It was served with a «special sauce» which I was told was a blend of garlic butter sauce, ginger, and other Japanese spices. Whatever it was, it was great! In the end, from the service to the food, we had a great night out and we will absolutely be going back to Oishii.

LOVE the chicken fried rice! The service was quick and everyone was nice and friendly! My favorite Japanese place!
