This particular Walmart is generally clean. Sometimes their bathrooms can be a bit dirty, but I don’t really expect much when it comes to the cleanliness of a Walmart bathroom. Their prices are decent and they have a wide variety of merchandise. They have a wonderful deli section. One complaint I do have is their arrangements. It can sometimes be a bit confusing around the cold produce section.

Overall, a very good store, convenient for Tuckians, I think is officially the largest taxpaying entity in the Tuck…24 hrs. Clean restrooms, unlike Stop n Shop, friendly, helpful employees. .you have to flag them down. But, unlike Home Depot, the respond courteously and show you where something is. Deli is limited in selection and a little slow in service but ok for basic items. No fresh fish, go to stop n shop for that and my only complaint is what others posted here: they run out of a lot of stuff and there are gaping empty spaces on shelves where popular items had been. Never go on a Sunday morning, despite the lack of crowds, they’ll be out of a lot of things. I get 80% of what I need here.

The aisles are cluttered. The store many times doesn’t have the common brand names of food we have grown to expect in a supermarket. The perishables aren’t adequately rotated. The fruits and vegetables are displayed in a sloppy manner. Many shelves are not stocked enough. A lot of empty spaces. Lines are longer than they should be because the cashier staff is sparse. A lot of the employees in the store are just standing around. I was in need of an associate in the sporting department and he was talking on the phone to his girl friend while looking at me waiting for service. I had to wait for about 5 minutes while he was giggling on the phone on a private call. The prices are great when you can find the item you’re looking for, but I have to go to Big Y or Stop n Shop to finish my shopping. Produce is bad. Meats are bad. Selections of grocery items are hit and miss. I believe that WalMart is likely to go out of business if they don’t turn all these problems around.

Unfortunately, I find myself at this store more often than I would like, for no other reasons than they are close and they are always open. The pros: — 24 hours — proximity — great prices on staples, produce, deli, personal care items, etc. — MOST of the floor staff, cashiers, parking lot workers, pharmacy are friendly & helpful — very clean The cons: — They are ALWAYS out of things, and not just one or two items — Crowded — too much stuff in too little space(maybe stock fewer items & actually stock them?) — The management. Seriously. Examples? 1) While shopping in produce, I could see NINE people waiting at the deli. Not one staff member out front(though you could see and hear 3 of them in the back). Over the course of almost ten minutes, every single customer left. I finally saw a manager(Winston) and told him that although I didn’t need anything at the deli, they had just lost nine customers because no one had been at the deli. His response? To get a staffer & tell them«this lady wants to order something at the deli». Ummmm… Maybe it would have been helpful if he stopped playing with his iPhone long enough to actually listen? {{I WILL be fair and say that about a week ago I ran in for«one or two things». Well, as that goes, my hands were soon overflowing. A young manager(Ed) not only helped me find something, but when he saw how full my hands were, actually went to the front of the store and got me a cart! THAT is customer service! Kudos Ed!}} 2) Trying to reach a member of management by phone is an exercise in futility. Last call I was on hold for 15 minutes. I finally gave up & hung up. Unfortunately, the poor management is the reason the store isn’t nearly as good as it could be. Oh well. Wal-Mart corporate doesn’t care as long as they continue to make money.

Wow it’s one of those super Walmart but not titled as such at that’s probably because their smaller than most but they do have fresh produce as well as meat and boxed/canned foods. Walmart always has the best prices so I like coming out here. It’s clean and they have a lot of staff working on the floor to help you find everything your looking for.

Terrible, terrible service. I called for electronics and was placed on hold 4 times! When the rep came back to the phone, I asked for a supervisor and then was placed on hold for an additional 10 minutes just before being hung up on.

One of the few Walmarts I’ve shopped at without wanting to gouge my eyes out, which speaks volumes, and is thus why they get four stars. I hate the self-checkout machines here, they’re way too finicky, but it beats standing in line at an actual register when the line is 12 miles long. It’s open 24 hours, which is nice, for example, when you’re having an allergy attack and have no allergy meds at home. Some of their groceries are dirt cheap too, but being all the way across town I don’t make it a point to do my grocery shopping here(yes, it has the grocery store setup here like a good old Southern redneck Wallyworld). The one thing that sucks is the grocery stuff is always picked over to hell and back, and if you go at night it’s like dodging a restocking minefield. That said, I really wish Naugatuck would get a Target. Mind you Ansonia isn’t *that* far, but it’s still a way better experience than Walmart any day.(And I am NEVER in the vicinity of Target in Waterbury, so yes, Ansonia is closer.)

Good deals, but not always worth the stop. The only reasons why I shop here are that they’re open 24⁄7 and they’re literally across the street from my home. Their prices might be low, but… Most Wal*Mart stores are essentially the same with Naugatuck being no different. Long lines, mediocre service and the selection at this location is not great either. Their cashiers also struggle with processing manufacturer coupons. That has happened at least three times. Bread? Not one loaf of bread that’s vegan here and that’s after looking through at least 30 varieties. Wal*Mart is notorious for selling highly processed foods with loads of preservatives. Not very many natural of organic options at all. If you’re vegan, the pickings are very limited. You’re better off going to Stop & Shop, that is unless it’s 3 a.m. and you have to do grocery shopping on the spot.

Probably the only Walmart I will happily shop in. It is clean, the staff is normal, and you can actually find what you are looking for. Parking lot is decent size for the place and it is conveniently off of Route 8. If you need to bite the bullet and go to a Walmart, this is the one to choose.

I needed a wire dog crate in a hurry for the Thanksgiving holiday. The store wanted $ 45 more($ 80 vs. $ 35) than Walmart’s Web site price for a comparable item. Customer Service desk refused to match the price. While I was still standing at Customer Service, I called Pet Supplies Plus on my cell, which quoted me $ 50 for the same crate. I asked the Walmart peon if they would match *that*, and even pointed out that the box was quite damaged. No dice. And with that, I left the crate and its smashed box – as well as my cartful of other would-be purchases – at the service desk, and headed for the pet store.(So much for that price-matching ad blitz they’re currently running on TV!) This is a Walmart to which I will not return. I was iffy about coming here in the first place, it being Walmart and all, and I guess the universe saw fit to relearn me a lesson – that this sh*t chain is not worth the cortisol.

Walmart is Walmart wherever you are… and wherever you go at Walmart you can find what you need, but you won’t always need what you find… and you still buy it cause it has that ‘smiley’ face looking all friendly at you…

I don’t know why people hate Walmart so much. Those who hate, still go here to get the best deal on the market. This particular Walmart is clean, low traffic, convenient. I like it. People are nice. You get everything at good price. Can’t go wrong with Walmart.

For a Walmart, it is fine. Certainly better than the one in Waterbury, and much easier to get to.

The Grand-fucking-Poobah of the soul-sucking chain nightmare. I’m not going to go into a huge rant about them, because it’s not worth it. But we all know they suck.
