If you’re under the age of 70 this is NOT the course for you. Pulled in at 2:40 on a Tuesday thinking I would beat the league golfers who would undoubtably still be working. Well the flaw in my logic came to light when I walked into the clubhouse. I was told by the«pro»(I would put him at 80 years of age sitting with arms crossed never rising from his seat or lowering the volume on Matlock) that he would be unable to let me out because the leagues were in full swing. I politely inquired if his concern was that a group of 4 would catch me a 5 handicap single? I observed the front tee was open as was the 6th which is right next to the clubhouse. He dismissively said«no you will interfere with them!» He informed me it was«wide open after 6» so I decided to cut my losses and chip and put for a bit. I did see(no less than 30 minuets later) two oxygenarians head to the first tee. The«full swing league» no doubt. I don’t live to far from this course but I was reminded on this last visit why I avoid it. Rude staff that seem to go out of their way to deter«strangers» from teeing it up. Take my advise and travel 10 minutes North to Western Hills in Waterbury or 10 minutes South to Woodhaven in Bethany! You will find great service and staff who will bend over backwards to accommodate. Hopbrook caters to the retiree set. Their leagues run 5 days a week all summer. Just my experience and just my advice.

Steep price given the course condition and location. Played here on a Friday a few weeks back and my friend said it was $ 30. I thought, «okay, that’s a pretty good deal for a round of golf.» It turns out it was 30 bucks each for 9 holes including a cart. Being in Naugatuck, I expected the course to be in great shape for the amount of money it cost to play. I was not impressed. The course overall was in mediocre playing condition with some very rough greens and shoddy fairways. All in all, it’s an okay course to play, but I still think it’s over-priced. We played around 5:30 p.m. and there weren’t many people on the course. At least that was nice. I would consider trying here again to see if it’s a better experience in the future…
