I would give this place zero stars if that were an option. We got there this past Friday and were shown to a spot by a ranger in golf cart. He said, «park here» and we did. Three hours later we were fixing dinner when some people arrived with a big RV and gave us the stink eye. Shortly after that, another employee approached us to tell us we were in the wrong spot. I told them this is where we were told to park. We had never been there before. Dude came back with the owner and about 5 other staff members and asked us to move. I told him we were fixing our children dinner but they just stood there and insisted they could help us move. My husband and I, both exhausted, said we’d gladly pack up after we ate and leave but we wanted a refund. The owner did grant us a refund but my children were in tears and very disappointed so we moved and stayed. I can’t believe how rude they were. I will never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone. It looks nothing like the website. The place felt run down and dirty to me. It was extremely overcrowded. RVs, pop-ups and tents packed in like sardines. I guess they want to make every penny they can. There are far better campsites in Virginia. I would suggest you pick one and avoid this unless you just like getting your drink on and ignoring your kids(which is what many families seemed to be doing.) Golf carts all over the place and children right in the road w/no adult supervision.

My review would be totally different if I would have been able to go to the bathroom or take a shower here… SONASTY!!! Never been anywhere like that before! The amenities were ok… Pool was small, putt putt run down, game room most games didn’t work. My kids really enjoyed the obstacle course float in the middle of the pond. And we all enjoyed the party by the pond. But this place is way to spread out for us. You have to rent a golf cart to stay here. And the people who worked there… So rude! And not knowledgable about any of the surroundings… Bottom line… I would never stay here again! But mainly because of the bathrooms…

Ok campground. The sites in the upper ground were spacious and shaded. In the lower campground they were crowded and in the sun. The pool was dirty and crowded, the splash pad was small and needed repairs. The lake smelled and the café had little selection and looked sketchy. I only took a peek at the bathhouses and they were not clean. They were a lot of activities for the kids but most cost to participate. Over all we had a good time but we will likely not return to this campground.

I would rate this campground average and under par compared to other Yogi bear campgrounds. First thing is the hours of pools and water slides, they close at 8pm during the summer??? The bath houses and all bath rooms encountered were disgusting and the food establishment it took me allot to not get the owner and have a field day as I am a health inspector. Everything from employees plain as days eating whatever they felt behind the counter to sanitation violations. Further more the campground is split by a main road in upper half away from pool lake etc and lower half(better place to be) the price point is way too high for what you get, they also had a lack in bears etc yogi boo boo and Cindy out only once in A two day stay for maybe ten minutes. The music being played was not appropriate for a 3 year old as profanity and back it up were heard. Not impressed recommend going to the Gloucester or luray yogi to have a great camping trip.

Kicking myself for not taking pictures. We enjoyed our stay here back in 2011 I think it was. We stayed in a small one room cabin. Had a bunkbed and a twin I believe with a refrigerator and a stand up fan. We enjoyed the lake. Also the pool and the splash fountains. Putt-Putt too. We want to go again this year and try to tube down the James river which is available on site. You can get the canoes and tubes right from the campground. Fun stuff to do o/s of the campground too. Caverns and the Safari was a HOOT! Hilarious fun with the kids. Diner not too far away and of course Natural Bridge. Oh! The experience we had at the Dinosaurland was also hilarious and something we will never forget. Mentioning all this because not only is camping fun… but when camping it’s cool to pick a spot where there are things to do in the area also. This is a great camping spot!
