This place is no longer in business. It has been replaced with a POKE’ ETC Restaurant.

If you are from the area, this is the go to place before. I stopped by to rekindle old memories. Missing were the long lines Missing were the noise Missing were the multiple TV airing TFC What’s not missing: The great food The great service The great smiles For a decent meal at great pieces, this is the place to be. Why not five stars? A business to remain in business must be smart. One star loss to variety. Until my next visit.

Been coming here since I was a kid! The food is always good and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming! They give you sooo much food, definitely get your bang for your buck. I love Point Point and I love that they always have lichon and kare kare available. The inside is definitely due for an upgrade, but I love that is very spacious inside unlike a couple of the other Filipino restaurants I’ve been to!

I absolutely love this place! My family and I have coming here for 20+ years and it hasn’t changed a bit which is awesome. The food and service is great and the staff is very friendly. If you want authentic Filipino cuisine and atmosphere then look no further.

The people that run this joint are so friendly. So family. You feel comfortable in mediately. And the food is so down home Filipino. I love this place.

I’ve been coming here for years and this 5 star review is long over due! They have the best lechon!!! Nice amount of meat with the fat fried crispy plus when you order it as one of your entrée, they give you a lot! When I was in the Navy, I would order 3 combo meals and that would feed my work center of 7 people. I don’t really like kare kare but I like the way they make it. It’s as close to Mom’s cooking so whenever I’m missing her food, I take that 25 minute drive to National City. Well worth the trip.

During a recent trip to San Diego, my family and I were looking for a place to eat Filipino food and we found ourselves at Point Point Joint. It was around 1:30 and so the lunch crowd was gone and this place was empty. Just like it’s name, it is a point-point. Filipino folks are familiar with this type of restaurant. It literally means to point at the food items you want. The food is all laid out on warmers and then you point at which items you would like to eat. Two item combos here are $ 7.50 while one item is $ 4.50. It is is a little bit pricier than other Filipino point point joints. I also noticed that the portions served were not that big thus making it a little bit more pricey. I had a one item combo with menudo. Tastewise, the menudo was ok. It had decent tomato like flavored sauce and tender meat and potatoes. All in all just an ok place. It is a little bit pricey for what you get.

The lechon is very good. I love the rice, sinigang soup, and adobo. It’s the closest to the base. After being tired from work, I would drive down to the closest filippino restaurant at point point and I loved the food! A quick fix!

We live in the Bay Area where there are pleanty of filipino restaurants. We thought that being in San Diego, it could be better. Although the small, dark place was inexpensive and the lady was sweet, I have to say we expected it to be better. It’s pretty average filipino food and I think my Nilaga taste better!

I have been coming here for years. I love their pork menudo and lechon. They give huge portions. The price has risen over the years but they do give big portions. I don’t live in sd anymore but it is a treat when I am able to go. Love it

Sorry but this place leaves a lot to be desired. The food is buffet style but you point(hence the name) to what you want that is if u can see it under the oil ! The place just looks unclean and unkept. Food was not flavorful at all much better choices in Nasty city for pinoy food

Youre craving some good home style PI food. This is the spot. just point at what you want for your combo meal. Chicharon is a fav especially with this dipping sauce. Mang tomas sauce They offer soup with combo. Sinigang. Try the cantaloupe juice. My fav.

More like eh… Definitely not the best, but not the worst either. I decided to go early for lunch to beat the lunch hour traffic, but man… they just never came. Just some old men in one table and a few others… and thats it. Even one section of the dining area was still closed off. I had the beef with tofu, bbq chicken and rice combo for six pipty. Thats a comparable price to other filipino foods in the socal area. However… the quality and quantity was not there. So far only Tita’s Kitchenette had both quality and quantity for the same price, but this place is only slightly better than R&B Filipino Cuisine in Manila Mesa. I was seriously light headed after eating at R&B. But point point… not feeling the meat sweats yet. Also, the rice to beef ratio is off. I would rather have more rice than protein, but in this case I actually ran out on the rice first. It’s just weird to me to just eat meat without my rice. I need to have both on one scoop. Plus…they have my siracha sauce Negative…again cash only… not sure what the rational is with filipino joints and their cash only policy… Do they not use credit cards in the Philippines? I mean… I dont mind paying cash, but I have a cc that earns frequent flier miles, so I think I have a right to use this as a form of payment… ok whatever. Ambience…dark.ominious. Yah… although they received an «A» rating, there’s mold and mildew on the walls. Plus…having some filipino tv on while we eat is good. Negative…dont put on those sad sad shows during the day… its a f… kin kill joy. Put on some semi-cool stuff like Wowwowee or some other variety show with the hot girls advertising Milo or sunscreen. No one wants to see that sad crap in the middle of the day. Change the channel people!!! Speaking of middle of the day… if you do eat here, just stick with eating in the middle of the day, the neighborhood isn’t a pleasant sight. Again…this place is just eh to a-ok

If I can ever make the drive down from North County, I will take myself(and anyone who’s willing to come with) on a road trip to Point-Point. Do you know why it’s called Point-Point? Filipinos have a thing for duplicating syllables or words. That said, it’s just that — you’re pointing(selecting) the food you want. It’s that simple. My fave is the kare-kare(ka-rey-ka-rey) which is ox tails traditionally(or beef) in a peanut sauce. That is to die for. Bury me with kare-kare please. Thanks.
