Ordered a Hawaiian combo for myself came with two different types of rice, mac salad, shrimp, fish and ribs. My BF ordered the chicken combo with a side of the BBQ ribs! The flavored where off the hook! I was impressed. Definitely would recommend for a quickie place to pop in and grab a bite to eat!

This place is super tasty! Bbq chicken and chicken katsu are bomb! Better than L&L in my opinion. The Lumpia is outrageous, 2/$ 1.75 Besides that it’s a really great place

My boyfriend and i ordered a family pack on Easter weekend and it fed the entire town! not really but they give huge portions though. The quality of the food is better than L&L’s. Definitely enjoyed the chicken katsu, beef thing and the beef ribs or is it pork? idk whatever its called. And it comes with two sides with FREEEESCOOPSOFRICE!!!

Stopped in here with my picky pregnant girlfriend. The young guy behind the counter was really nice and enthusiastic. The food was really good. She had bbq chicken. It came with rice and macaroni. I got chicken saiman. I had never had it. 5⁄5. Good service and good food.

One of the best Hawaiian resto. Better than L&L in terms of taste and portion. They added fried rice which I love with my chicken katsu. I’ve tried most of their offerings including the new lumpia that is AWESOME!!! Crew is friendly. I’ll be here frequently!

Edit. So I had my review at two stars, but I decided to drop it to one. After I wrote my review a Unilocaler, who I’m pretty sure is a worker, decided to leave a note and write a passive aggressive«wowwww» comment about my review. I gave an honest opinion on my experience, they even got my order wrong and I didn’t go there causing a ruckus and instead of saying sorry or even nothing at all, he made that comment. It’s rude and not good customer service at all. I really miss the old Ohanas. — — — — — — So I thought to myself yesterday… I haven’t been back here in months. I used to love this place. Then the owners sold it and I wasn’t a fan, so I just stopped coming here altogether. I had a hankering for Hawaiian bbq maybe I should try them again since they should’ve had a chance to settle in by now. So I ordered a mini short rib/bbq chicken plate all white rice. Although the portion size seemed kinda skimpy I enjoyed my meal very much. So much I decided to eat here again today. I ordered a mini katsu chicken/bbq chicken plate all white rice. When I got home I noticed they didn’t do all rice. It was one mound of white rice, one of mac salad and last was fried rice. I definitely know I said all white rice because the girl on the phone repeated back«so no macaroni salad?» And I said yes. Now I wasn’t mad I just thought well I’m not too picky I can give it a chance. Eh didn’t turn out well. I’m definitely not a fan of their fried rice which didn’t taste fresh nor the macaroni salad. But in their defense I’m not into macaroni salad in general. I thought well atleast they’ve never messed up on the Katsu chicken before(old owner and new owner alike), but I spoke to soon. The katsu chicken just didnt taste the same, I couldn’t put a finger on what was wrong with it though. Something different about the flavor of the breading. Yea, I probably wont be back here anytime soon. The food cost too much to worry about inconsistency.

Great food. Just as good as L&L but they’re geared towards Korean style. Also, FREE kimchi! I stopped coming here long ago because it was a cash-only type of system. That is now fixed.

I’ve been coming here for years. I haven’t been in a while, so I was a littlr nervous when I saw the huge«under new management» sign. I like what they’ve done with the place. New paint, art on the wall and a couple tv’s. I’ve always loved the food, that hasn’t changed. Wasn’t used to seeing fried rice on my chicken katsu plate, that was a little different. But good. I’ve always loved their mac salad, I forgot to order an extra side. Prices are still good. Portions still huge. Service with a smile, my order was ready super quick.

Best Hawaiian spot in San Diego imo, hands down! My favorite dish is the chicken katsu. Excellent service and quality food.

Didn’t like not honoring their site special but excellent food! End up getting mix grill. They give you a lot of food though.

Great flavor, huge portions! I tried the BBQ beef, short ribs, loco moco, and spam musubi, and they were all delicious. My only gripe is that I placed an order to go, and the lady on the phone said it would take 20 – 30 minutes, but instead it took about 45 minutes, but I know they had some large orders before us.

Hawaiian BBQ mix is really good, but the beef rib is chewy. Other than that, customer service was great. Oh, there’s wifi as well as entertainment(they added flat screens).

Cali roll — BLOWS. MAJORTHUMBSDOWN Chicken katsu — still good They serve fried rice now which is really good. Their macaroni salad is whatever. But their California roll is the worst. You can tell it’s been sitting out(not fresh) the avocado was already starting to brown. Pass on the sushi here.

I have always eaten here but they have gone under new management. The portions are still enormous! The BBQ mix was on point. The macaroni salad was delicious! If you’re hungry and want something quick and heavy to eat this is the place to go!

Yasssssss. This place is under new management and has improved! Thumbs up to you guys. I’ve been here a few times before and it was meh. But now they’re on the right track. I was craving loco moco and gahhhhh damnn the Portions are huge. Three of us shared the regular size and we BARELY finished it. Also while we were waiting they offered us FREE Otter pops?! FULLSIZE not the little small ones. Idk I was super excited about my otter pop. The customer service and otter pop really made me want to leave a review. My cousin ordered a side of Mac salad for her kids, I believe it was like around $ 2? She got a small(mini size container like they use at L&Ls) and it was FILLED. Her son is 1, and it was his first time trying it. He went ham on it, left a small little dent in the mound of macaroni. Their Mac is waaayyy better than L&Ls. I’ll be back to try out the other menu items to see if they have improved also but so far flavors are just right, portions get you full, and price isn’t too bad considering how much food you actually get.

I’ve come to update my review on this place because it’s been a year and have finally came back to visit this place hungry expecting a wonderful meal. Very disappointed to find out this place is under new management and was not satisfied with my meal at all. I use to love this place but the katsu chicken that they gave me tasted sour. The big portions they used to have is now gone, now they have big and small sizes and obviously the bigger plate is more pricey. Very very very sad.

I was here once for the previous management and it was not good at all. Now with this management, woo, it is better, much better. The chicken Katsu is not as good as what others have been telling me, but it was good enough. I was just here the other day for the first time since they switched management, and they seemed pretty good. Service was quite good. Although I did hear the phone ring several times and when a customer came in claiming he has been calling for quite sometime, the cashier said that he was busy and was unable to answer. In my opinion, I think that he would have been able to answer the phone. He was busy but not too busy to answer. Their so called mini was not so mini, which is pretty niice deal… I just went recently and it was pretty busy we had to wait a bit for our food but it wasn’t a bad wait… or maybe I just didn’t notice? Well in all actuality at any other store I might be pretty pissy about the wait… I think their tv is kind of distracting, so I guess the wait was bareable. I ordered something different from last time and it was pretty good. BBQ Beef was good.

Came here for dinner at 7pm and ask what time they closed, the lady said«9». The reason I ask was because all the chairs were already on top of the table, and the lady was already mopping the floors. it looked to me like they couldn’t serve hungry dine-in customers and they are only serving orders for to go. I was pretty disappointed, hungry and took my business someplace else. But other than that, I will be back for another review if I ever comeback here again. Sorry :(

Tried this place out since it was recommended. It was delicious! We had garlic shrimp plate w/rice and substituted macaroni for salad at no extra charge. Husband had a «small» plate of macaroni and white rice. It was perfect fit for a giant –like my husband. Also received a small portion of tortilla chips as we waited for our to go order. These were delicious(thick and crunchy). The only reason I didn’t give it FIVE stars is because the Asian register chick was not knowledgeable about their food items. Everything we asked her she ran back to ask the cook(who was knowledgeable). He other reason: the Asian owners seemed to be sorting bills behind the register. They never bothered to look up to answer any question I asked, greet us, thanks us for our purchase. Could be they didn’t speak English, I don’t know but you can at least smile — regardless of language. Smile is accepted worldwide!
