First and last time coming here. I took my son here because the usual place was packed and I didn’t have an appointment. The lady when we first walked in didn’t even bother looking at us or saying hi. She had an angry face the whole time. When my son’s, who is 3 years old and has been getting haircuts since he was 9 months old, turn came he sat on the chair and she put on the cover. The floor was still dirty from her previous client. I didn’t see her clean the tools. I knew i should of left right then and there but i just wanted his hair done! My son gets a bit antsy when they come close to his ears but overall is a great kid and doesn’t cry. She kept grunting and finally had the nerve to tell me with a horrible attitude«can you come hold him? Otherwise I’m never going to finish» Ugh, never had I been asked to hold my child. The haircut wasn’t done properly(I asked for the part to be perfectly marked) which is why I didn’t tip her. I’m usually a great tipper when the job is done right and the person has a great attitude. Never will I go to this place again, no matter the emergency. I would rather go to my sons usual place

I have been coming to Dimars for years. ALL the stylists here are good. Minerva is my favorite, she has done the big transition for me from long hair to a short pixie and does a fantastic job as a stylist. She asks lots of questions, takes her time and if you’re unsure about length, she will cut, see how you like and continue cutting if you’re ready to go shorter.

I held my reservations and choose to do a review on my second visit. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I first came here. But after my second visit, I knew I was going to be a regular. The salon was clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. But the bonus was the soothing/comforting Spanish/Miami style salsa music playing throughout the salon(not to be confused as your neighborhood taco shop). I love this place! I don’t mind the drive all the way from Chula Vista because with service like this… It is so worth the drive. Try ‘em out and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. From the immortal words of Debbie Deb, «Look out weekend ’cause here I come…» I’m ready for ya =)

Being in San Diego for a couple of weeks, I needed a hair cut and so did my son. Ussualy I go to a spot in LA, they know us and with that what I want. Dimar’s is a barbershop with up to 8 stations and 2 washtables, clean and quick. My friend told me that they speak English, but he still had to translate them through the haircut of both my son’s and mine. Which is not a problem if you have a translator with you, which Aldo(my friend) became. The prices are good $ 18.00 for me and my son, I might return, but most likely look for another spot. I f you know a spot where the cut more East Coast style, Holler at me, I would really appreciate it.
