The woman working the front desk was one of the rudest people I have encountered in a very long time. Her lack of manners and common sense humanity was appalling. I would not recommend coming to this facility due to the absence of any kind of professionalism from their staff.

On somewhat of a whim, I decided I wanted to learn how to play tennis. I failed at going to the gym(the Boston Sports Club in Central Square is not exactly inspiring, but that’s for another review), don’t have the money or time to do yoga often enough to be effective, and recently noticed just how many free(outdoor) tennis courts are scattered throughout Cambridge. I needed an indoor place to learn that wasn’t too out-of-the-way, snooty, expensive or intimidating. Enter Natick Racquet Club. Staff were quite helpful as I was searching for places, it’s convenient to the Pike and has several reasonably priced beginners clinics. You can use their racquets for free, and the beginner instructor, Peter, is really encouraging. Sure, the other 5 people in the clinic are suburban soccer moms and older men, but we have a great time, and I’m learning a lot in a low-pressure environment. We do drills, technique, and fit in some basic doubles play. The facility itself is a little retro, and the building is set back in an industrial park, but it’s well lit and in a residential part of Natick so I’m not too concerned. Can’t wait for the snow to melt so I can try out my new skills!
