I recently went to the downtown Prudential Sephora for a custom makeover so that I could learn some tricks of the trade for doing my own wedding makeup. The experience was pretty awkward and after buying just a few items(costing well over $ 100), I decided to head to Clinique to pick up the remaining items that I needed. My friend and I drove to the Clinique in Natick in with no appointment, and I was clear about the three items I needed(mascara, powder, blush). The sales clerk/makeup artist, Beth, was amazing. She didn’t try to upsell me and was incredibly helpful and considerate. She even threw in some freebies that she thoughts might work with my wedding look AND the entire thing took no more than 15 minutes AND was far less expensive than Sephora. Thanks, Beth!

I called to schedule an appointment to have my makeup done. They informed me that they have a three-item purchase minimum when you schedule a makeup appointment! I have had my makeup done for years at various makeup counters(including Clinique, Lancome, and Chanel) in the area as well as out-of-state, and have never been told of a purchase minimum in order to have makeup done. I’ve always bought something at these appointments, but solely based on free will. I’m very disappointed by this!
